Hi folks,

My fiance is arriving in the U.S. tomorrow! He is from Cuba and arriving in Miami. I am going to meet him there are we are going to travel to my home in California. Can anyone tell me how long I can expect to wait in the airport for him to get through immigration/customs. My plane arrives at 4:00 pm and he arrives at 5:30 pm so i am wondering if I will be waiting forever. I also know how to get his social security card and sign him up for school. He needs a California ID (not a driver's licence). Do we have to wait until he gets his SSN so he can get his California ID?

Any info would be great. Fiesta manana!!

It depends on how busy immigration is, but you are likely to wait for an hour after his plane arrives.

It took 45 minutes for me to see my husband at the arrival lobby.

The paperwork at immigration itself took about 35 minutes.
