This afternoon, I'm just sitting here working on the computer and the power goes out. I'm pissed because I have work to do.... I hear some thunder and then a really loud rumble... I open the front door and about 200 feet in front of me is a tornado picking up my neighbors boat and ripping away his roof... I turn to tell my son to run to the bathroom and the tornado threw the boat 2 lots away on the other side of his house... a few big trees torn from the ground and a car tossed onto the roof of another house and it was all over but the few dozen homes missing portions of their roof... No damage to mine, just debris from the other homes all over my property and big black stains on the walls where asphalt shingles hit the house. This visa Journey is stressful enough.. I dont need a tornado or the oncoming TS's making it worse.... OK I feel better now! What a crappy day! Man I could use a NOA2 about now..

You must be up in the panhandle? Glad you're okay. Looks like TS Claudette had a little power behind her! It been nice not having all the activity we had last year, but it looks like our break is over. :(

At least all is well for you. Dont scare the misses to much though! If she sees all the destruction she might get scared.

I told her last night and she said the same thing happens in VN every year.. just like hurricnes hitting here... I'll keep the Hurricane Charley pictures away from here until shes been here a while...

Glad you're OK... I am dealing with Damned looters today.. For some reason people think that after something like this happens everything is fair game... I caught some people trying to break into my neighbors house today and their daughter was asleep inside at the time... as if it was not bad enough that it was their boat that was flying above the roof of the house and then was destroyed and the roof torn apart... the scumbags will probably get off with no charges since I caught them before they got in... I am likely moving in the next month or two and I have been temp[ted to move somewhere with a lower cost of living but I like catching snook and redfish year round and wearing shorts in Feb.

they were not hit.. it hit a 1 block area in Cape Coral only.. when you are here.. be ready for the afternoon rains.. almost daily this time of year... so plan the daily activities ahead with that in mind.. a day trip to sanibel, captiva or Cayo costa are a nice break from the FMB thing...

Thanks for the report and the suggestions. I live across the river from Cocoa Beach, so I'm quite used to the afternoon rains, except ours are normally T-storms!
