Hi - My wife is in the US on a CR-1 since December 2008. We live together in Pittsburgh where we both work and I go to school. She has recently received an excellent offer to work for the next 9 months in Chicago during the academic year (Sept2009-May2010). We plan to see each other atleast 2x per month over that period and spend three-four weeks together over the holidays.

Could this affect her chances of removing conditional status since we may living apart in reality? Should we leave her permanent residence as here in Pittsburgh and just treat her residence in Chicago as temporary? I would think that this situation would be the same as if we were to maintain two residences as opposed to each having our own residence. Perhaps it would help if both our names were on both leases in the two cities?

Any thoughts/experiences on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

Under your circumstances (temporary) I don’t think it will, but I would keep all recipes/documents of travel phone bills and so on as proof. Take some pics of the two of you from time to time in both places. Names on the two leases is good to...
