If anyone needs a dose of hope - we just received NOA2 today and we filed on August 15th. Of this year!!! We are, in fact, a little shocked that this happened so quickly when we had no special circumstances, no military expedite...we're just regular, ordinary people who are extremely thankful for the VJ community for enabling us to feel confident in our petition.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that this bodes well for everyone here!

:)

We are soooo excited too, but now we are scrambling to gather info that we were not expecting to gather for a few months....LOL Either way, now that I see him coming here in the near future, I am allowing myself to imagine what it's gonna be like with him here....I have been not letting myself imagine this because we had so much time to wait, now we just have the nervous/excited/anxious make-you-not-want-to eat butterflies in our tummies!!! I am so happy to hear such good news from all, and I am still thinking of the others still waiting....God Bless everyone!

Congrats to all who got NOA2 (still waiting for ours in Bangkok here).

Last night we were invited to an informal pot-luck supper with some Ministry of Education

big shots, but it was very relaxed. If you can imagine a retired female school director (over

60 yrs old) shouting "I told dirty joke!" Thais are so relaxed compared to Americans that

it no longer shocks me. This group may have some influence on obtaining her early

retirement (still not in the bag, as she was one of the top award winning teachers for

many years). Many of them said they don't want her to retire, but since she says they

like me that may help smooth things over.

Let's hope the VSC doesn't run out of gas for the rest of the August filers who are waiting for NOA2's.

Hey guys, I am so glad to hear that you guys are getting your NOA's approved so quickly. I just had a small question for you guys:

Is it more difficult to enter US after submitting packet-3 to the consulate from Canada ? I read some posts on vj which said that after you submit packet-3, the consulate enters your passport # in the system which pops up at the POE. Would visiting on holidays like Christmas make it easy to enter?

Please help !!

Nope, just the one on 8-21-09 (which I think just meant whoever send the NOA 1 just passed it on to the next person in line.

I only got a touch a few days after they received it, but I've read that even though I had a NOA1 date of x and a touch only a few days later it was probably just them putting me physically into the computer. No touches and woke up before work to a txt message from USCIS!

Hey guys, I am so glad to hear that you guys are getting your NOA's approved so quickly. I just had a small question for you guys:

Try looking on the Canada forum. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have any problems, but every country is different!

Are there any petitioners filing for SOs in Italy? I'm the USC filing and put Rome as the embassy. Someone told that Naples is the only consulate that issues K-1 visas. If so will they send my package back because I put Rome? I have had any touches or anything yet.

Try asking in the Europe forum where there are more likely to be Italy filers. A half-hazard guess would be probably no from the general discussion that I've read about USCIS. Hope you don't!

Thank you! Oh I didn't see RFE instructions on the guides, I need to look that up better. Once I know what was missing I'll post here. Any tips then? Write a big "RFE" on the package and a copy of the RFE mail inside, with what was missing would be enough?

My NOA1 date is August 17, and there is a touch on the 20th, but that was it. If it is set for e-mail, all you need to do is check your inbox, I believe, at least to me it came at 9am sharp (my time, 8am Vermont time), I didn't have time to poke USCIS website to see if it comes faster there or not.

Hey we have the same NOA1 date. :) No RFEs for us yet though. And I check my inbox religiously for more than email from USCIS, my fiance emails me pretty regularly from work.
