Ok so did i miss something. Why in the world did they put yall on ap.Because of your denyed entry? Thats crazy...Try not to worry to much.Did they say ap or ar?Praying for you girl. This is not an easy place (AP).But to tell you the truth it has been five months now for us in ap and i feel stupid about whining when i did get noa2 fast enough. This is hell because you have no timeline. They can hold our case forever if they want.It will be 1 year on july29th that we mail our k1 off.I miss Alen so much and hes so scared there.I feel helpless but i started praying and talking to god i gave it all to him to take care of because at this point i think hes the only one who can fix this .hope yours is a short one.ill be praying for you.

It's definitely AP, says so on the sheet I was given. They would not give me a reason, I asked and he wouldn't tell me.

Everyone else on VJ who interviewed at Montreal this month was approved. pretty depressing.

Thanks for your prayers Bridget. I have been thinking of you and Alen as well, now I know a little of how you feel. (F)

No he's not, he's never been able to visit Canada for a stupid reason, reckless driving charge on his driving record. Which he shouldn't even have gotten, he wasn't driving recklessly, he slipped in mud in the dark on a turn, no one was even hurt.

Well, Carna and I have been patiently waiting  for her final teaching semester to be over. She's turned in her grades, shipped boxes of stuff from China to me here in the U.S. She's now back in the Phil. and will attend her CFO seminar this week. I am flying over to spend some time with the family before we come back to the States.

Does anyone have any idea how long it will take her to get through Customs and Immigration in Atlanta? We're taking a shuttle back to Chattanooga, and I need to schedule which one we need. I don't want it to take 30 min. and I've expected two hours... or worse, the other way around and we miss our shuttle. :crying:

Did I say we're excited?

Yay for the good news!!

I was soooo tired from the flight and excited at the same time that I can't recall how long it took me on my POE in Dallas. It sure felt super fast, I was the only immigrant, but as you said, the POE reviews are a ton of help.

Glad that you guys are finally going to be together!

Oh my, anniversary huh?

Congrats on the Visa! That was a long AP thing. I hope you are feeling alright after all the stress.

My GC arrived last week, on the 23rd, so I am pretty much free of USCIS until Removal of Conditions

Been looking for a job, got only an aptitude test done last week, now waiting for an interview call or a denial letter... fancy huh? They generally just don't bother telling if you are denied... let's see if they really send something... or not, hope I get called

Postponing learning how to drive because I am kinda afraid of it! But once my SSN card has the married name and I have a state ID, I can't escape it. I could have done those two by now, so you can see how I'm postponing!

Dang you are WAY ahead of us, already got the GC, so it took 5 months right? How long did the EAD and AP take? I had a sheet of paper attached to my envelope that said EAD should only take about 3 months and nothing about how long the AP took.

I think I won't be able to relax until the wedding is over with, AoS process is well underway, plus I need to get added to his health insurance plan, etc etc.. there's still a lot to do. At least I am away from my noisy, nagging family finally! I had nightmares the first couple nights I was here of somehow ending up back in Canada and unable to get back here since the visa was already used. Still feel like I should be going back any minute lol! weird to finally be here permanently.

Anyway I have to learn to drive too, not looking forward to it. I've never been in an accident but a car hit me when I was 12 and broke both my legs so I've always viewed them as death machines. But we are not going to be living in any big cities since Kevin hates them, so I can't rely on public transit anymore.

Good luck with your job, what are you applying for? :)

EAD took 99 days, AOS, around 4 of 5 months. I don't really count April much since we got a sort of RFE for filling the check wrong :bonk:

I did not apply for AP, because I really don't want to travel for a while. I want to be here sound and safe, without being apart drama, without airplanes, without dealing with border people, etc. Really want to spend a whole year at least away from all that, just living a "normal" life, getting used to the seasons in the north hemisphere, and so on.

And... well... I had the SAME nightmares you had. Me going to visit Brazil and then BANG! I realize that I used the K-1 already, and I'd be apart from James for who knows how long again. Felt horrible. So that also doesn't make me want to travel. Not to mention I got super spoiled and had my parents here with me for 2 weeks in July :)

I agree, driving is a very big deal and dangerous. But OKC is huge and without good public transportation, just buses that I can't find stops nearby where I go. I could walk for hours in Brazil to do my errands around the city. Here is impossible, as there are no sidewalks and I'd have to risk my life all the time. So... I'll have to learn.

Glad to see approvals!!

I just got my EAD  ...oh wait. I mean, David got his EAD! I'm already, um, working and am a USC  I'm so obsessed with this process...

David's still applying to graduate school for next June and he's been getting all his ducks in a row for that, took an entrance exam, recommendations, etc etc. He passed the learner's permit written test at the DMV (driver license folks) and now I have to teach him how to drive :)

Ah yes, Kevin introduced me to the local DMV yesterday. It's nice that most of the places I want to go to regularly are so close by and I can ride my bike. Did David apply for AP or not? I understand about not wanted to travel or be separated anymore, but Canada is less then an hour from here, very short trip back and forth. Also Kevin just sent in all the papers for his app for waiver of inadmissibility to Canada, so we're kind of hoping to get that and my AP around the same time if possible. At any rate we are not going anywhere without each other again!

Whoohooooo! Arrived in Atlanta on July 7, with the wedding on Sept. 25. We had other family from overseas here for the wedding, so it was held towards the end of the 90 days. Mailed AOS on Oct. 2, and had biometrics in Atlanta on Nov. 2. Things are moving!
