We're just waiting for London...supposedly they received our payment on the 25th of March, signed for by someone, and additional documents can take 10-15 business days. Of course the US embassy has all the UK and US holidays off, so apparently Good Friday and Easter Monday are considered holidays, which will delay it further...meanwhile DOS says we're in AP and London hasn't received our payment.

Trying not to freak out, but it's making me a bit of a stress ball. I know DOS says you're in AP to cover many different things, so I hope it's not the dreaded you have no idea what's going on or how long it will take AP, but the London needs the visa payment kind.

Hmm, that's weird, how do they arrange the visa payment in UK? Mine has to be paid in cash at my interview, hard to delay that! And we give them the envelope to return the visa in.

As for the packing issues.. lol, Kevin told me last night to burn all my stuff and come with nothing! I don't wanna do that, I have a lot of books that I've been collecting for years! He has a storage unit at his apt, but it's already got my bike in it and not much room for anything else :(

Nobody asked him to pay it :bonk: and I had focused on all the other stuff for him to do...lol, nobody asked him for his affidavit of support either until he asked them about it.

Storage units shouldn't be too expensive per month, have you looked into it?

I had to leave all my books in Brazil, way too heavy to go with me on a plane trip. They weren't "pet books", so I just donated them all to the local library. But if you really love yours, you could mail it, I assume. And then, well, they'll be there already and he'll have to find some space

Yesterday I took my "medical" for AOS. And I never saw the doctor! How lazy! The nurse took my vitals and did the paper work, sealed, and the doctor just signed it, on his super secret room somewhere. But other then lazy, it was all good, nurses are generally nicer then doctors anyway. We paid $60 for the vaccination transcription only, with the mysterious doctor signature and seal.

I thought id check in on all yall aug. filers. I hope some of you have made it to your loved ones.We are still in ap at the embassey.Sometimes i get tired of checking for emails.Feels like it is never going to happen for us.I am sad because Alen had to return to Iraq. Now he is going to start back to work for a securitys company whom contracts out to our army.Kind strange he can pass security checks to work for our military but not to come here .I miss him so much.I haven't seen him since Dec.15th.Almost for months.I think he is getting discouraged too.Because he told me today he thinks he might not be here by next easter. It is so sad that our immigration system is so broken. There has to be a better way.I pray for each and every one of you on here. Please continue to do the same for us.Bridget

Hang in there! I do recall how e-mail checking would drive me crazy though. I checked every 30 minutes or so... and then I decided that twice a day should keep me sane.

What I tried to keep in mind not to lose my hope is: nothing is wrong, it is just a big line of people, and that is why it takes so long. Don't let your imagination carry you away, thinking that maybe a space monkey robbed your case out of USCIS' files and traveled back to mars with it, or something crazy, but not so much, like that. I hope you get to feeling better, and specially, I hope you get good news on your case soon! (F)

As for me, in February I got finally back together with James after 8 months without beign able to be together. We married on march 20th, and sending the AOS package this week. Very happy that the away-waiting is over, now for the together-waiting part!

Sorry to hear that, I hope for the best for you two. Some of the stories on here are heartbreaking.

And Carolina, you come up with the funniest things. Space monkeys? Hahaha

Well I survived my medical, only problem was that my most recent tetanus shot was not listed on my vaccination record, so I have to get that information sent to them. Had to get up at 4 am to get to Toronto on time.. whew.

Plus besides the cost of making an international call, they charge you $16 for every 7 minutes that you are on the phone with them...

:bonk:

Ugh.

:wow:

Thank goodness David will at least be with me for the rest of the immigration process...AOS, ROC, Naturalization...then no more giving our lives away!

Yes and luckily you weren't planning an immediate POE or you'd both be going crazy right now.. or crazier than you are. :P

I'm having more trouble than expected getting the record for my shot.. hospital is charging me $25 for it and said it will take 2 weeks to process.. and my interview is in 4. Like it's my fault they didn't put it on my record to begin with.

Glad to know you guys are having some progress! Even though they are costly and with annoying points.

We sent the AOS package on Monday (12), so now we sit and wait. No word from Social Security yet. I called after the 4 weeks passed, and they told me all I can do is wait.

As you guys said, together makes waiting a whole different story, I even forget I am waiting for something on the mail and e-mail. I could not keep it out of my head when we were appart. I hope you all are on that peace of mind part very soon!
