I received my NOA1 today dated 31 AUG 2009. So I guess I am officially an August filer! I wish everyone good luck through the process.

Hello everyone and I wish you all the best of luck. I must ask this question.....please don't berate me too hard.....my I-129F was received by VSC on 28 Aug, no NOA1 yet, but am I an August filer or September filer? I know it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but I was wondering.

Thank you.

I think it's a question of your point of view, but if I mailed in August I would consider myself an August filer even if I got the NOA1 in September (I DID get mine in August).

If you sort Igor's list by applications sent, the August senders will appear in the August list even if their NOA1 was in September.

If you sort Igor's list by NOA1 receipts, that same filer will appear in the September list.

Did you guys notice how VSC is starting to pick up the pace on NOA2s? Yay for us! Hopefully we'll get ours soon, I love seeing my estimated time go down, now the earlier time at "December 31st 2009" instead of "January 13, 2010"

And I looooove seeing my Igor's list number go down, even though it's not that predictive.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize the (personal) Igor's list number could change according to current stats or workflow.

Mine currently says between Jan 7 and Jan 23, 2010. I'll have to watch it more closely.

From looking at Igor's list we have 61 I-129F filers in August, while there were 80 in July.

Since we are 1/3 through September, I wouldn't expect either number to increase much,

but the August number may add a few more. We want our friends in Vermont to work

hard for us, but not to be overworked!

*sigh* I'm totally obsessed with Igor's list. My one OCD fear is that they'll speed everything up real quick and then slow down right as they get to the August filers...but it shouldn't be too long then in any case.

Any of you guys making any wedding plans? I've read a lot about it on the forums, the pros and cons, and decided to make tentative plans for September 11, 2010. If the average time is 6-9 months, this gives us 3-6 months of cushion for any extra reviews. I've booked a reception site and a photographer, all with the assurances that I can push the date forward if I need to.

A few days were chopped off my Igor's projections as well.

They are constructed with some kind of statistical model,

but I have no idea what the formula is. It might be proprietary

but that's the prerogative of the admins.

If they let it be known, someone could swipe it and start their own website.

Reminder that it's just a projection, as good as any

made from the available data. With each individual

case results may be based on either the completeness

(or lack thereof) of the application, or perhaps on the

effectiveness or inefficiency of the administrative office

concerned. Each applicant's results will be a result of

those factors, which are unique for every applicant.

You can construct your own observations or estimates by using the advanced K-1 Visa timeline database:

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...ll&dfile=No

After you copy the amount of data you want into an Exel spreadsheet, you can sort on multiple fields and construct formulas

for displaying automatically the time differences and times expired since particular actions took place.

None of that will actually help your case move any faster, but it may be fun to do for comparison's sake.

I've booked a reception site and a photographer, all with the assurances that I can push the date forward if I need to.

I'd like to have a "head's up" from the proprietor & photog about any "administrative charges" for pushing the date forward.

Also, if you don't have that promise in writing, they can fetch up any kind of BS to tell you

"oh, but that's an exception, you're locked in!"

I wouldn't make any such plans until you got the visa in hand. Switching dates may be possible but

the ominous need for CANCELLATION is something very real and not a thing you are thinking about at this early stage.

Well, I've already sent $500 to the photographer and $500 to the reception site, so I guess I'm screwed : )

The next deposits are due within like two months of the wedding and I can afford to be out $1000 (I have a good paying job) if they don't keep their promises--and if they don't, I don't think David and I really want their services anyway!

I think the operative words in most businesses are "exchanges yes, refunds no."

Just be sure to find out what the fine print is BEFORE you put down the big part of the down payment.

With this in mind, I'm also noting that you are applying from the UK.

You should look at the consulate reviews and the timeline database

to further assess your chances.

In order to see a statistical modeling of those in your category,

go to:

Timeline Search

Put in 2 entries: Visa Type & Beneficiaries'Country (Service Center = ALL)

You can opt from between 20 to "ALL" for maximum results (listing your co-filers).

The statistics, no matter what you put for number of results, will be the same.

In the results, you will see the averages for your visa.

I did a test run for the UK; I found Mail I-129F => NOA1 = time average of 10 days;

NOA1 => NOA2 time average of 91 days; NOA2 to interview was 98 days, a total of 199 days.

The same number currently for Thailand is 211, so you have a slight edge on us.

Best of luck.

Hope you get things done as you plan, Justine+David.

And thank you for that explanation on the statistics, thongd4me! It made me happy to find a possible date where my process will be over, although it seems like eternety the waiting. It should be between december 21st and january 7th... but Igor's list made a huge jump this week, probably to move the people from earlier then March down to the other table. I hope most people applying for a K-1 actually uses this website and updates their timelines, because it's lovelly to watch the positions on that list go up every day.

Big thank you for the people working to keep all this data organized, it soothes me, and probably others! Wish USCIS had the same! (hoping for it on their new website incoming...)

Whoa, you sent in your application in August and you are contacting state reps?

How can they speed it up? May I ask?

Are you in Administrative Processing?

Has your application been in process for over 6 months?

Has your documents been lost by USCIS?

State reps, congressman, senator, lawyer CANNOT speed up the immigration process.

The truth and fact is that all of us waited for this painful process to fall into place and so will you. Goodluck.
