I haven't been around here much since there hasn't been much to update. Called DOS on feb 1st, no news, tried again last week and they were snowed in, then I ended up working more than expected the rest of the week and didn't have a chance to try again. Just got through again and it was logged the day after I called on the 2nd haha, but still no interview date... I bet it will be soon though! I'm hoping for sometime in May. I'd love a spring wedding.

How is your packing going, Carolina? When is your POE? I figured you'd be married by now I certainly can't wait!

You guys make me think that Brazil consulate is just awesome about being organized and speedy! Or maybe Canada and England deal with more volume of people... not sure! Hope you get your interview date soon Kev.

Well Bev, I limited myself to 42kg of clothes, CDs and shoes. Reason: I am moving by plane! Envy on you who can probably pay a truck! The suitcases together are bigger then me. Gonna be quite an adventure, like when I went as a tourist! And in the end there is the big prize of beign with James again, and forever Can't wait!

Woohooo I arrived

Still feeling on Brazil time, so here I am nerdling while James sleeps some more!

POE was soooo nice and smooth. Felt welcome to the US =)

Well, of course the plane arrived at 5:40am and we had to "wait the government open at 6am", like the flight attendant said. Was kinda funny, she then added "sorry lady and gentlemen, this is a govenment rules, not ours... see the govenrment doesn't even want to give you some walking time...".

So, had a wonderful night with James and today we'll go get the little house details together! So happy to be finally together!!

I am sorry but why were they denied?

I traveled to Manila last week, to be with Carna during her interview on the 23rd.

We arrived at the embassy at 6:15, got inside without too much of a wait.

Got our ticket and finger scanning, and met with the prescreener at 7:25. It wasn't too long a wait until the interview, which came at 8:15. I think he asked me as many questions as he did Carna, but it only took ten or fifteen minutes and he said APPROVED!! Whoooohooooo!

Since she has to leave on March 4 to go back to China to finish her Spring semester of teaching, we asked if she could pick up her passport/visa at the embassy. No problem. The woman at the releasing window thought it might be ready by Friday, but she hasn't had a call yet. The schedule is pretty tight, but all has worked out so far.

I flew back yesterday (Friday), got delayed in Detroit because of the snow...

We are both in shock, excited, still so much to do, even though there is still so much to do. She will do the CFO seminar in June when she gets done in China.

Well, her passport was ready to be picked up on Friday, and they had been trying to call her but kept getting an 'out of service' on the landline call. You have to love the phones in the Philippines. She went by the embassy on Monday, and picked it up. The stress is over!

The wait until July is going to be hard.

Ahhh to finally receive the passport with the visa... mine was delivered by TNT... I've never been so happy to see a little orange truck stop by my house, had to control myself.

Congrats Bruce and Carna! Dang still so long for you guys to wait.. I swear I'm gonna be crossing within a day or so of getting the visa if I have to buy myself a wagon and drag my stuff across on foot. lol.. no car/license sucks, but I'm only a 40 min walk from the border
