Well, we finally have an interview date for the Embassy in Manila! They wouldn't open up the February dates until January, and I have been too busy to get back on here.

So... Feb. 23 is IT! I'm flying over on Feb. 20. She'll go for her medical soon, and is getting all the little extra stuff done that she couldn't do until she got back in country from her job in China.

And no other packets sent after we got the letter that she could schedule her interview. Just a link to a document on the Embassy website with all the rest of the info about what is required for the interview. I called THREE times to check and make sure, since everyone else kept saying she would get more in the MAIL.

I am getting nervous, but I have understood that I don't send in the support info ahead of the interview. As I understand for the U.S. Embassy in Manila, we just take that info to the interview. No one has ever said to send it in ahead of time, and the documentation from the embassy says the same.

Your correct, just take it with you. I sent my fiance a letter from my employer stating my position, how long I have been employed and my current salary. I sent her a letter from my bank that stated I had a account in good standing since xx-xx-xxxx and they listed the total of deposits for the last 12 months. I also sent her a copy of my 2008 tax returns. She presented them when she went for her interview and was never asked any questions regarding them.

All is falling into place for the interview at the end of February. I do have a question about whether or not she needs to get a CENOMAR, since she WAS married. She has the marriage certificate with the annotation on it concerning the court decree of annulment.

I've read where some do get a CENOMAR...

Any advice or further information? I could call the U.S. Embassy again. :-(

I don't know what a CENOMAR is...

But for the I-129F, we had an RFE because my fiance didn't send the final-final-super-final document saying he was divorced. So whichever is the final word on the ending of the previous marriage, from the proper institution, you need that one, I assume. In his case, he is american, and the document is named "Decree of Divorce a vinculo matrimonii", from the city court he was married. Not sure if this helps you, but if you can get that paper, or similar, it doesn't hurt to carry extra paper and feel 100% ready instead of 99%.

She was married in the Philippines, and has obtained an annulment. You can get a Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR), but we think it is only for someone who has never been married. She currently has the official marriage certificate with the annotation from the court. I think we are good to go, but one of the other Filipinas on here said she also obtained a CENOMAR as well as the official court papers.

Perhaps I'll just ask on the Philippine portal.

Thanks

B&C, yeah, definitely ask the Phillipino crowd; they should know the embassy well :)

Carolina GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do they tend to hand the visa over to you the day of or do you have to wait a few days and have them mail it to you? Have you packed all your things yet?

side note, as I was on wikipedia for a good deal of the night due to a slow shift at the hospital and saw that the football world cup ("soccer" in American :)) will next take place in Brasil! and thought of you. Are you into your nation's pride and passion?

Thank you Justine!! Here we have to wait them mail the passport and the mystery package home... which means mailman stalking incoming... I have all my documents and all the extras, and all the documentary proof, and all the forms already tidy and organized on a folder with individual plastic bags. I'll go one day ealier, so I just need to wake up and go. All is set, just need to put all in my small hand bag and GO! So anxious!! My arms are hurting for nothing, my shoulders are like stone hard... argh! I've been playing World of Warcraft to distract myself, but as I log into the game one of my friends says in the guild chat the countdown of that day "6 more days Carol!!"

About the world cup of soccer, I'm not much into it. I like to watch the games because the players are very good, not because of some blind love for the national team. It's silly that most brazilians just remember to have the love and pride every 4 years when the world cup happens! What I love of Brazil is its nature and the caring behavior of people. There are many bad things, like any other country, but we can be very humanitary, and we are blessed with a beautiful and generous land. Once I get my status all nice and tidy, I want to take James here to meet where I grew up :)

haha, I'm more of a baseball fan myself. I was in Germany during the 2002 when Germany was in the finals and it was more fun to watch everyone else go crazy :)

Oh I don't think I'd be able to become a baseball fan, it looks so slow, and then sudden movement. And soccer only on TV, I get distracted on live games and miss goals and important stuff. So far hockey was the funniest, they have all this little events for the public during the game, and people play and cheer, it felt very happy. I did get shocked with the fighting between players though, I didn't find nice that they are incentivated to do it.

Oh gosh we are so offtopic

Well, I'm here just waiting for the interview. Very anxious!
