Still waiting, hoping....hoping, waiting :clock:

Does anyone happen to know if having a child complicates the process? We have a 17 month od son. Not sure if this may be the reason my petition seems to be taking longer than the others.

While visiting my fiancee in China, I received a letter at my home in the States, addressed to her. It is from the Embassy in Manila, saying she can schedule an interview. Is this Packet 3? Or does this come after actually scheduling the interview? (see below)

We can't schedule yet, as she won't be home until last half of Jan., and they have not opened up interview slots that far out yet.

I called to see if this is a problem that it came her and not to her address. Answer was 'No problem.'

A question for other Manila/Philippines folks. There is NO packet sent to fiancee. They give a web address at the Embassy, which has all the info needed to schedule everything and the documents/forms needed. Did anyone else get a packet?

She will also have to get police clearance for time she was in Japan 20 years ago. They said it may take up to 1 1/2 months, which means she might have to go back to finish her contract in China and come back for the interview in July.

It will all be a matter of timing...

Bruce

You have to get back to her and ask for more detail. You should have an email to both of you saying which packet it is.

This is the link to the text of packet4 for us; it should say packet3 or packet4 on the link they give:

My packet4 announcement

Again, best of luck!

She hasn't received anything. The letter from the U.S. Embassy in Manila was addressed to her at MY address in the U.S. It says she can call to schedule her interview and has a link to an Embassy page/pdf, a 10 page document explaining all she has to do/bring/fees. etc. NO PACKET NUMBER IS GIVEN.

No email to either of us. Just the letter from NVC with case number and that they were sending everything to the Embassy and the one letter from the Embassy which I just explained.

I'll just have to call the Embassy again.

And this software won't let me edit my own post post...

I think the Packet 4 link you gave is equivalent to the link the Manila Embassy gave us in the letter. The only difference would be she hasn't scheduled her interview yet. Maybe another letter once she schedules the interview... but I'll ask on the Philippines portal.

Congrats!!!

Well, I decided to do the Packet 3 stuff for my fiance and then scan them in and mail them over. I sent him a list of questions and I'll do them in the next couple of days. He's very busy at the moment (works two jobs) and I'm just so anxious to send it out! We're hoping for a February interview...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I'm working (grr), but at least next year, fingers crossed, we'll all be with our signficant others, adjusted status, and living two blissful years free of USCIS!
