So I am looking at doing this K-1 visa but I am super nervous about the whole thing and wondering if I should hire a lawyer to do the paperwork. But I wanted to hear from people that have already into this process what do you think should I hire someone to do it or am I making it more complicated then it really is?

Got my NOA1!!!

Darn Bank of America obscured the back of my check for security purposes, so I "chatted" online with one of their reps and got the EAC number, logged in, and got it!

According to my timeline, "Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated between January 13, 2010 and January 23, 2010"

So...do we bug USCIS if it doesn't happen then? I called them up once asking some questions and it was a maze trying to get to speak to a real person.

According to Igor's list, there are 30 VSC August '09 K1 couples. Welcome! Please post :) Where are your beneficiary (good freaking everything, if I have to write that word out one more time on a post-it note from the application)'s from?

Hi there,

I filled out the paperwork myself. Many people have stated that you only need a lawyer if your case is complicated ie. enter US illegally or overstayed in the US.

I sent my documents a week ago and just received my NOA1 in the mail today. Just make you sure you follow to a "T" what they require and proofread everything. Also make copies and get a delivery confirmation.

With all that said, good luck!

Monday (Aug 31) will be 1 week since I mailed the application. I know it can take another week but glad to hear you got yours in a reasonable time.

I just posted an observation about the NOA1 => NOA2 times re: CSC vs. VSC. If you are in VSC as we are you might have a longer wait for that.

I am a June filer, but also am a NICU nurse. I love my job. We have been busy too! Good luck on your journey!

Kimberly

Cool! I'm just a year out at a children's hospital so I still have lots to learn but I adore my job!! Are you a delivery hospital or children's? Want to become a NNP? I want to do bedside for like 5 years or so and then do NNP to do transport/high risk deliveries. Speaking of as well, have you done any research about nursing in England, especially NICU? Just in case :)

thongd, have you been able to check your bank account to see if they cashed the check? You can get the number on the back side of the check if it has been. Do you have confirmation that the package already got there?

conny, welcome!! I was a huuuuge stalker for the longest time, from like April onwards :)

thanks mari joe!

...

Hey and have you guys noticed that VSC is starting to pick up pace on Igor's list? !! Although it looks like it's slowing down on CSC, unfortunately for them.

Yes it's been worry central, but if there's a "Gott In Himmel, es ist alles gut."*

I got my postal receipt today (dated 27 August; they got it in 3 days) so the NOA1 can't be far behind.

*I'm the one who should have listened when they said "don't try this (German) at home."

Haha. Well, that was only preliminary. The obsessive has gotten as of the last few weeks. But hey, my number on Igor's list changes every few hours, so I always have an excuse to check it! lol.

You know, I really had no idea how hard it is for people to get their loved ones here. I'm educating all my family and friends so that they know how it works; the more people who know, the more possible effect it might have on changing the system.

Hello everyone and I wish you all the best of luck. I must ask this question.....please don't berate me too hard.....my I-129F was received by VSC on 28 Aug, no NOA1 yet, but am I an August filer or September filer? I know it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, but I was wondering.

Thank you.

You will get a letter with "the date" likely yesterday or today.. so could be either Aug or Sept... wait and see.. its in the mail..
