August 2009 VSC Filers

Congrats on the notice. Gary (Gary & ALLA) still reports "pending" in the electronic

notification system but he was in it a long, long time before we were. I haven't

had any reports (not here in any case) of August VSC filers getting the hard copy

while the electronic system failed to recognize that particular notice.

I'd like to see those August VSC filers report about that failure here, in addition to

the ones (so far) that got electronic notification first. Since this thread focuses on

Aug VSC filers, what we see here may mean that they are not concerning themselves

about older cases but are trying to keep current ones up to date for electronic notification.

Got my hard copy of NOA2 today Kind of a letdown, it's just a one page boring piece of paper just like NOA1 saying that the petition has been approved.

Been calling NVC every day but no luck so far...and Monday apparently was a holiday for Christopher Columbus (?? wasn't he kind of a jerk? who didn't really discover "America" anyway?) so they were closed.

I got a doubt though, why you guys calling NVC after getting NOA2? I read somewhere that the process goes there, then to the foreign country, but that is all I know. We HAVE to call them for the process to continue?

Oh, no. It's just for the obsessive checkers like me who want to know when they get it and when it leaves for the embassy. There's even a way to track the package sent from NVC to the embassy, lol.

The lady on the phone today said it could take up to 90 days for the mail for them to get it. Are you kidding me?? From what I've read, most people are <2 weeks. I'm calling every day to check it out.

Dunno if it's like in Brasil, but in the UK, once you get your LND number (NVC gives you a new number which replaces your EAC number for the rest of K1) you can schedule your medical exam to get it out of way, valid for one year (for AOS).

NVC got it!! And the upshot of the whole thing was that they DID get it yesterday. Don't believe everything the people on the phone lines tell you!!

Now, here's to hoping for no AP in NVC...

I was scared about AP at NVC too, but found out in went into the NVC, and left the NVC in the same day!! Also, I thought NVC used DHL 5-7 day delivery .....anyways, congrats!!!

Question: Once you get your petition approved by the USCIS and it is sent to the NVC, does the NVC send you something in writing to let you know they received it?

they do send you a letter stating that your petition will be sent to the consulate within a week, but from what I understand, everybody gets this letter, whether they are stuck in AP or not...

I haven't heard anything different...DHL 5-7 day service is the one they use

I got my NOA2 hard copy in the mail SAT. Called NVC and fionally today they told me we are in ap.....grrrrrrrrrrrr.....I guess we are destined to play the waiting game now.Congrats to all of you who have gotten your NOA2.

Nice congrats Thongd and others. Still nothing for us but our estimated adjudication timeline starts a week from now (and will probably drop off a couple more days between now and then lol).

Funny story, when I visited my fiance last weekend the customs officer said to me "you guys aren't planning on getting married yet are you? you know there's a PROPER way to do that?" I laughed and said "yes I know, we're doing it that way!"
