I need help if anyone can help me. I am the wife of active duty Navy officer who is presently on deployment.

We have been married for 1 year and 1 month. I submitted my documents a little late but anyway, I got everything kind of fast. We had our interview for June 15th but my husband left on deployment June 6th. I went in to the office and let them know. Now I received a letter to appear on July 19th with all of the paperwork. Has anybody ever heard of people doing the interview without their spouse present? Please help anyone

I assume you are talking about your AOS interview? If I remember well one member on here went to her interview without her spouse, he wasn't deployed I think he was in basic training at the time, btw the member is Stefanie (if I remember well!).

They are well aware of some military circumstances so I am sure you'll be fine.

Good luck with everything (F)

YES!!! it can be done,...

I did it. My husband got orders to Germany a few days after we married, and we were in Germany less than a month later. He deployed almost immediately. I lodged my AOS, and EAD etc etc before we left. I returned to the states a few months later to attend my AOSs interview on my own in L.A. I would recommend a letter from your husbands chain of command indicating he is in the military and currently deployed. It will help your situation alot. I took all my AOS paperwork, and a copy of a letter from my hubbys chain of command. Once they saw the letter, thats pretty much all they looked at. I didnt even make it in to an interview office as such. Just took me up to a desk at the back of the waiting room,...told me I was approved, stamped my passport and advise me I had to apply to lift conditions in 21 months from that date. Thats the stage I am at now.....
