Wait... I'm confused. Why does it matter what WE look like?

Wait! You dudes turn on YOUR web cam too?!?!

I thought she was supposed to do all the "sexing", and I was supposed to do all the watching!

Sheesh, I've been doing it wrong all along...

Geez Scott, if you're still doing webcam after almost a year of marriage, you're doing something wrong. :jest:

Did I mention she went back to Ukraine to visit her family for the first time in a year, and won't be back for another month?!? I must admit, the first few weeks were really nice - I really enjoyed the peace and quiet. But now it's time to fire up the web cam!!

I would say that Skype usually gave the best video results vs the other webcam services i.e. yahoo, msn, icq, etc...

Even with the slowest dial up connection, you should be able to get decent voice connections on Skype.

I thought the reason webcams were invented was so you could have camsex.

We never used a webcam. We'd only talk once a week on the phone for about an hour and even that was skipped quite often. We would exchange pictures every so often but for the most part, we went on about our daily lives and dind't try to "live together" until we were actually together.

If folks are spending hours and hours on the phone or webcam while they're apart, what are they going to do once they're together? I mean, maybe you're one of those people who likes to be with your S/O all the time, but me personally, I want some me time and I wish my ol' lady would just leave me the hell alone sometimes. She's the same way so it works well for us. YMMV of course, but if there's no "surprise" when she gets here, she's going to get really bored, really quick.

The "newness" will wear off eventually and you'll be forced to live individual lives. Encourage her to have some individuality, even now.

And mox is right, that bald-spot glare will mess up all but military-grade hardware. I like to wear a tea cozy.

we talked on skype about 5 times a week for 30+ min each time. we only used webcam about once every 2weeks cos it used up alot of his internet card. also, we talked early in the morning for me most of the time and i wasn't camera ready. i liked to look forward to the webcam time as a 'date' and dress accordingly from the waist up.

i also hear that mail.ru has a better video service than skype.

Hey Russian, Belarus and Ukraine Members;

I tried my first real venture with a webcam. Of course, speeds in Russia are slow so it is not true video. I am sure most of you have been using webcams for months if not years. I must admit, this was great fun. I have not see Natalya since my last trip, almost two months ago. Seeing her on webcam reminded my how sexy she is, reminded me of her beautiful smile and reminded me of her home and her room.

What have been your experiences with webcams? Other than chats, what other uses (related to our SO's) are there for webcams?

Hi, I am from Vietnam. I am Jerome's fiancee. I love the way my fiace show me the webcam around his garden and his kitchen. It seems like I am with him all the time while he is cooking or he is palying with puppies in the garden. My fiance plants lots of trees such as pears, apples and flowers such as roses and honeysuckles. He is walking around with the laptop and talk to me on yahoo voice and his neighbours thought he was crazy because they thought he talked to himself. We fall in love with each other via cam. We talk and laugh via cam twice a day. we know each other routines. We can even watch game shows on TV or talk to my friends in The U.S via his telephone speakers. Lots of things by using cam feature. More and more, find out by yourself!

I thought I was the only one who was not using the "webcam" glad to see there are/were others.

My lady is not with me yet. we talked about "webcaming" but she says "no" her computer is too old and she will not even discuss me buying her something new.

We live on the webcam, its how we've been surviving this whole process. Every morning and every evening we talk via webcam. No, no cam sex... that would only make the wait that much more difficult. She and I both have laptops so we're able to walk around, share things and it really works for us to deal with the seperation. As I get the house ready for her we've been able to pick things out together, help her visualise things to help with move planning, etc.

Unfortunately its also gotten me into trouble for eating upstairs, not taking my shoes off when I'm in a hurry and leaving the kitchen in a mess :jest:
