Hello Bella, I petitioned for my step-sons in January of this year and had my appointment in July. So the whole process takes about 5-6 months, (I had a delay getting some documents).

Yes, since your husband is not the biological father he needs to be there. This is what I was told in my case that I need to be there. You don't really need to have pictures with your sons and husband, but it can help. (I didn't have any pictures).

the only questions asked of them was: who is sponsoring you? they should know the name of their stepdad and should also answer stepdad. Where is other biological parent? and if you and your husband have full custody or is supporting your sons, they may ask you who is taking care of the children while you are in the states.

My stepsons interview lasted 10 minutes and they were given their visa, I brought them back with me end of July now waiting for the greencard to arrive.

You didn't say how old are your sons, so I can't tell you age specific things to expect.

Good luck

Yes, since your husband is not the biological father he needs to be there.

This is not always the case, I was the USC petitoner for my 2 stepkids from Colombia, I was not at the interview and the boys were approved. Yes it is good to go if you can cause it helps. If you have pictires together bring them as it always helps in case they ask. Do you children know your husband? Has he benn to visit them yet?

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

Our process took 4-5 months. Neither myself or my husband were required to be present. I went to the interview only because we were already in Jamaica. It was short and simple. They only asked my husband's daughter if she knew who I was. It was over just like that. No pictures required.

Yes your husband can file even though your AOS is Pending. It took out I-130 about 2 1/2 months to be approved back in 2007. You daughter shoul be here in the US within 6-12 months from Filing. Follow the NVC short cuts and get everything ready cause once it hits NVC it will fly through if you are prepared.
