What's the lowdown on this airline. I want to put my baby on the direct from MNL to LAX? Will I have issues.

Note that I am here in the states so I WON'T BE THERE

I'll get her a copy of my CC and drivers license.

If she prints out the eticket or goes up with the conf. # will there be issues?

Have any of you flown them over here? Any experiences?

Thanks.

For one thing PAL gives a first time immigrant discount if you ask for it. I got about 20% for my wife and anak. I've flown PAL NUMEROUS times.

Cool. Thanks. But it's OK if I buy the ticket for her with my CCARD over the phone? She's not going to get the the Manila airport and have them tell her she can't fly?

Great question. I am watching for a reply from someone's experience. I was going to wire the money to her BDO account from the USA and have her purchase the ticket there but she said there is a lot of fraud and she was worried about getting a fake ticket

Now I am planning to purchase it online, pay for it on my credit card, put her name on the ticket, and email it to her the

e-ticket for her to print.

When my wife and anak were first coming over I purchased tickets [Credit card] from a travel agent here in Hawaii and my wife picked them up at her local PAL office in the Philippines.

She had to pay PTA the P1620 travel tax also. P810 for anak.

I will not be purchasing a ticket until mid-September so I will be following the thread.

Flew via PAL from MNL to LAX using my wife's credit card. They didn't ask for the card number.

How old is your baby and who a accompany her to the US? The only issue you will have is that she will need a clearance from DSW or DFA to fly to the US if the parent can't accompany her.

I am concerned about the flight too....reading PAL web site...

Either way works. I left my Fiancee a copy of my CC and Drivers License back in June when I was there knowing it wouldn't be long, in July she got the visa so we began a ticket search and I was able to get her to MNL from CDO cheap so I bought that ticket for her and she was allowed to fly after showing the copies of my ID and CC. She found a travel agent there in CDO that she got the MNL to LAX on PAL ticket $200 cheaper than I could find online so I transferred the money to her and she bought it there.

One thing to note is that when you are on the PAL website, they will ask for the information of the person traveling, just put her email addy in there and they will email the ticket directly to her.

I sent Claudeth money to buy her ticket, it was about $150 cheaper than anything I could find. Make sure your fiancee has her CFO stamp too.

My understanding is, that if a PAL ticket is purchased by someone else, the passenger simply has to have a copy of the ID and CC of the purchaser. I would even write a "permission slip" explaining that I am paying for my wife to immigrate to US. Then she is good to go!

Check out the PAL website. I remember reading about this issue there. My previous PAL email tickets also have verbiage about the above issue and procedure. Happens everyday. I imagine a large percentage of PAL tickets are bought for Filipinos by USC's.

I did the email ticket for my wife with PAL The only problem I had was that I tried to protect my CC number by blocking some of the numbers. I had to fax a copy of one of my statements so she could board the plane.

Using the PAL website was the cheapest way to buy the ticket, but I had a hard time getting the transaction to go through, since my CC company flagged it as an unauthorized foreign transaction. I had to call the CC company to authorize a one-time transaction. Then the transaction went through okay.

If you can't afford to be with your wife when she flies, I understand, but if she has never left the Philippines before, it will be a scary experience for her. Try to make the flight with her, if at all possible. I wish I had.
