"Brain Drain" issue...

Over the years she has been the recipient of numerous awards for excellence in her job from the King of Thailand.

My inclination is to include at least some of them in the K-1 process, at the I-129F stage or maybe

wait until the interview takes place.

She doesn't feel she has to include them, not only because we will have a preponderence of other

evidence, but because she is afraid the Thai government will get wind of that and somehow prevent

her from leaving the country.

I think her reasoning is that if the US authorities take those documents to the Thai govt. and

discover they are real, there may be an effort on the Thai side to stop her from going.

Any opinion from Thai Significant Others?

Any experience in this area?

This can be a question for couples in other countries than Thailand,

but I am primarily interested in those from Thailand.

These awards do not have any relevance to proving the status of your relationship, do they?

You don't need to submit a resume for your fiance, just show that your relationship is bona fide, that you've met within the last two years, and that you (or a cosponsor) meet the income requirements. You will have to proved a police clearance for your fiance.

They don't do credit, education, or employment checks for the fiance. Adding that information will have no bearing on the visa process.

First of all - I have my doubts as to the possibility that the Thai government would make any attempt(s) to intervene.

Secondly - You obviously do (or she does), so why would you want to include things such as these, knowing full well they are of little/no value to the K-1 process (neither at the petition nor interview stages)?

Just my 2-cents...

Thanks, I was thinking of that as something extra, but as you both pointed out it's not needed.

Back to my package-preparation. I'm getting closer every day.
