Alright, hello everyone. :)

Now I've done countless forum searches and google searches on this stuff and I need some straight answers and all in one place. I apologize if this is another redundant post and also if it's in the wrong forum. On that note, I would GREATLY appreciate any help at all in answering these questions. Thank you! :)

To clear it up, I am the US citizen and I am petitioning for my fiance in the UK. These questions pertain to the documents that I must send him that he will take with him to his interview.

1. Do I need to send him my birth certificate? If so, will a copy suffice or must it be the original?

2. My employment verification letter was faxed to me at work from the higher-ups in the company. It is also signed. Will this suffice or will I have to call them back and request them to mail me a NON copied letter? I am concerned because although it is signed, it has been faxed....is that still ok or not?

3. My w2 forms were also faxed to me. They are scans of the official documents, but not the *originals*, is this ok?

5. For my I-134 I have my (1) tax returns (2 years) (2)W2 forms (2 years) and my (3) Employment Verification Letter. Is a statement from my bank REQUIRED? If so, must my fiance have the ORIGINAL or will a COPY suffice?

(I only have past 2 years because I did not file before that)

6. I understand that I must have a letter stating why I did not file taxes in 2006. Can I write this myself or must I contact the IRS and get a statement from them? Must it be signed? If so, will a COPY suffice or must I send my fiance the ORIGINAL?

7. My brother is sponsoring us. He also has the same documents as I listed in number 5 (except he has the past 3 years), will he also need a bank statement?

8. My brother is sponsoring us. Will he need to write a letter stating that he opts to co-sponsor and sign it? If so, can you show me an example of what this letter should look like?

OK you guys I think that's it.

Again, I apologize if these questions have been addressed. I can promise you that I've forum searched this stuff and googled it and there are too many varying answers.

Please answer in as much details as you possibly can, I am trying to do my best to not mess up on this.

Thanks! :)

Whitney

My letter from HR was also faxed to me. To back it up, I'm bringing some recent pay stubs to the interview.

I wouldn't think he needs your birth certificate, but copies of your passport pages showing your visits (if any post filing I-129F) could help to prove the ongoing-ness of your relationship.

Thank you very much on that. I will send him my fax of my verification and also send him several of my pay stubs. :)

About the birth certificate...I didn't think he needed it either but while researching I kept coming across things saying he would need it. I know he needs an original of his, but mine? I dunno, he's already got a copy of mine in his duplicate of the K1 petition.

I followed the recommendations in the K1 Guide here on VJ and had no trouble.

A statement from you regarding the reason for not filing will be fine. This will also be sufficient for the I-864 at AOS.

Don't forget to include some recent paystubs along with your I-134.

If you (and/or a co-sponsor) are qualifying based on income then the bank statements are not needed. Just employment letter, recent paystubs, and tax return (with all supporting docs and schedules).

You want the beneficiary to have a copy of the I-129F package as well as originals of the important documents (birth certs., divorce decrees, etc.) for the interview. Do not submit originals unless requested by the embassy/CO.

Co-sponsor does not need to write a letter. Just complete the I-134 ans supply all the needed documents.
