my friend is married to a man from india for about 4 years, he got his citizenship through there marriage. She has some doubs that he is still married in his home country. my questions are:

1. How did he go through all theses years of investigations, without getting caught. or they don't (uscis) check the home countries of the immigrants.

2.i hear that they caught some cases, how the uscis discover that.

It may be easier than you think. I'd suggest going to or contacting by phone the Indian consulate nearest you

and asking how public records can be obtained. After all India is the largest democracy in the world and they

pattern their bureaucracy on the British model. Such records may be publicly available and might be obtained

through an Indian lawyer or investigator at a fraction of the cost for which you might hire an American one.

i dont know his religion but if he is muslim and did the religious marraige that is not always registered so it might be hard to find out if he is still married.

a trip to his home in india might help but if the family is agreeing not to say anything that wont help either.

i wish her good luck and hope that he is not still married

Polygamy is openly having multiple wives, sanctioned or unsanctioned by law.

Bigamy is marrying more than one wife without divorcing the previous wife.

In Polygamy the wives are said to cooperate and in bigamy nobody is happy.

Hey I was reading ur post and someing got my attention.. could you tell me what you mean (She has some doubs that he is still married in his home country). Your thoughts are not clear.....

So now I have question for you:

1) He was married before? If your answer is yes.... did he provided divorced letter???

Ok now for you my suggestions...I see you are K1 filer for India...why you didnt ask your FIANCE to investigate, which will be more easy and sold work... This is time taking investigation, but your FIANCE cant find very easly....
