My wife filled out that our 1 year old daughter and myself would be coming with her to the interview in London. When we received the letter of notification it only listed her name as attending the interview. Do I need to go to London with her or will she be fine by herself? It would be a huge savings and a lot more convenient if we didn't need to go with her. I'm just concerned that if we don't go with her now after she said that we were going with her that it will raise unnecessary questions.

Any ideas?

p.s. My daughter and I are both USC and my wife is our daughters birth mother.

You are not required to attend and some embassy's won't even allow the petitioner to sttend.

However! I never seen any petitioner complain they had attended. I've seen LOTS that wish they had tho.

Definitely adds to help proving having a bonafide marriage which is probably one of the most common reasons for visa denial.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

You may attend but you're not required to. Presumably you're on the K-3 or CR/IR Visa path - plenty of folks don't attend as a couple.

Do you feel there is a compelling reason you should be there?

There is no compelling reason to be there apart from the fact that I've always gone with "more than enough information" in regards to all things visa related and being there would show us as a family. We have more than enough proof that our marriage is "legit" so I'm not worried about that. My only real concern was that we had planned on going as a family and that's what we put on the "Notification of Applicant Readiness" form that we sent to the embassy.

I believe it's the IR visa we're on. It's a DCF so it's all gone through very quickly, I sent the I-130 on June 26th and the interview is set for Sept 16.

I think you will be fine, don't go. My USC husband stayed at home with our USC twins (DCF in Ireland), it would have been too much hassle to bring them. I did bring the kids' birth certificate listing my husband as father as part of my bonefides as well as their CRBA certs, but wasn't even asked for any bonafide proof.
