Why do you think Ruffa Guttierrez's marriage to Ylmas was declared null and void and Ylmas threatened her to faced legal charges despite divorce is allowed in Turkey and in US? That's because she's a filipino citizen and should abide the legal system of our govt in our FAMILY CODE......She was doing the illegal action of marrying Ylmas Bektas after she's married to a USC R. Daloia in Nevada.....THAT'S WHY...You obviously didnt follow what happened to their story and the statement of Philippine Consul General about Ruffa's illegal action.....

You're so slow of comprehension I think. Your making fun of me...You know what, ignorance of the law excuses no one. Obviously you don't understand our FAMILY CODE what it says....SHE IS SUPPOSED TO REPORT HER PRIOR MARRIAGE. But she didn't do that, that's why she is denied of embassy help from our govt. because of what she unlawfully did, cant you get this point?

 I don't judge her badly because of her past, she just went in the wrong direction. She asked advice and comments and the posters here are just responding the honest answers about our govt. system. If you study some law subjects and read the family code in our country when you were in college or even if u didnt go to college and read the code, ma GETS mo yung point. But it's useless to explain to you because you're soo slow...U asked nga someone here pabalik-balik in your postings sinagot nya pro d mo pa rin na gets and still you asked same answer to her...read back the postings....God Bless to you NYDVO! Congrats to your new good man!

lol!! mabuti na-gets mo tlgang i am making fun of u na lol!!, bcoz ur initiating phil. law... ako happy for her bleh-bleh-bleh!!! :P

Let's just be happy for NYDVO as she had been through a lot. She is in the US now she's under US Law. When time comes to apply for Citizenship she'll just have to submit her Divorce Decree and her husband's (if any), didn't violate any laws and she'll be okay. They do background checks before they approved any Visa at the Embassy and she was honest about everything in the past that's why she is here in the US!

yan din po kc ang alam ko eh!!!

sooooooooorrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy kc super ignorance ako tlga sa law ha...?!!! at mabuti na lang kc anjan ka.... thank u!!!

And Ruffa didn't report her prior marriage either in NSO but still the Philippine Consul General ruled that she did illegal actions and can be subject to legal consequences kaya nga at that time na galit c Ylmas she was scared to death because Ylmas has all the legal rights to do so and so does the Philippine Govt. Buti na lang nag change yung mind ni Ylmas & the govt didnt go after her, otherwise she could have been in prison of what she had done.

Well dear, hope d ka galit sa akin ha...That's why we are here on this site to give advice of what we (posters) know. And I'm very sure of myself, I'm happy for her, d ako katulad nang ibang Pinay na pagdating d2 a year or 2 after prang kung sinong mag-asta at magyabang. Iba dyan, na wla nang kultura, dyan inosente pa, pagdating d2 hay naku! prang prosti na after a few years....But who am I to judge they are also people who want to enjoy life's fun here....Ang sad lang here is binabatikos na ang mga Pinay d2 na as for them (Americans) , pumunta lang daw d2 for greencard...what a ####### ! Yeah, there are many who are like that and I'm not one of them, and to be honest my real essence of living happiness is in the Philippines not in US....

It was declared null and void because Ruffa lied about filing a divorce in 2000. She married Ylmas in 2003 while her first marriage was still subsisting. She only filed for divorce on June 1, 2007.

Here's the story:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruffa_Gutierrez

In 2003, she married Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektaş in a wedding in Manila.

On June 10, 2007, Gutierrez admitted on ABS-CBN's The Buzz, that she married Richard Daloia and belied Bektaş' claim that she had not filed a divorce petition to nullify her first marriage. She clarified that she alone filed the petition in 2000 but did not follow up the status of the petition. Clark County’s civil, family and probate records on their website, however, shows Ruffa filed the divorce petition only on June 1, 2007. No other record of a previous petition appeared.

I didnt say the govt. WILL go after her. HOwever, our govt. HAS ALL the valid legal reasons to go after her IF THEY WANTED TO. What our govt. did (Phil. Embassy) was they denied her of help, and that's a start, through their inadmittance of unlawful act done instead of correcting/helping her to straighten it out legally. ....U need to read a lot dear....hehhehheheh....lol joke !

ABSOLUTELY WRONG INFO...It was declared null and void because she's still married to R DALOIA based on Nevada's record, yet she married Ylmas after, this makes it null and void. Okay, doks

Read the family code !....Kasal pa cya based on her first marriage nung nagpakasal cya kay Ylmas, THIS MAKES IT NULL & VOID ! okay, please read our FAMILY CODE....u need to educate yourself more about this, so that you cant fool yourself in the future who knows what happens...

Regardless of her location of marriage occured, as long as she is a filipino citizen she has to abide our legal system.

Regardless of citizenship, wherever you are PHYSICALLY PRESENT, your host country's laws will prevail. Why do you think the US allows a Filipino citizen to file for divorce against a Filipino spouse? It does not matter to them that the Philippines does not recognize divorce, the US divorce law applies to a Filipino because the petitioner is in the US. Once you are in US territory, you follow their law.

To give you another example, Philippine law states that the mother has sole authority over an illegitimate child. You can take the child out of the Philippines without the father's consent but try doing that in the US and you will be prosecuted for child abduction. You cannot tell US authorities that I am a Filipino citizen and my country's laws say I have sole parental authority over my child.

That's why she can't get help from our Philippine embassies here in US because it equates inadmittance of wrongful action done by the filipino citizen.

The Philippine Embassy is mandated to help its citizens. It cannot turn away Filipino citizens who are in need of assistance. They even assist Filipinos who admit to being TNTs (illegal act) obtain a new passport. See this link:

http://www.philippineconsulatela.org/FAQs/...passport.htm#P2

I am an undocumented Philippine citizen (TNT). Can I apply for a passport? Will the Consulate help me?

The Consulate helps and protects ALL Filipinos, regardless of their immigration status. A Filipino who has no legal immigration status in the United States deserves the same assistance as that accorded to a legal resident

Isn't that what I exactly said? That the marriage is null and void because of an existing marriage?

The point you were trying to make was that kaya null and void ang kasal ni Ruffa kay Ylmas ay dahil hindi ni-recognize ang divorce ni Ruffa ng Philippines. Pinakapakita ko lang na kaya null and void ang second marriage nya ay hindi dahil sa divorce na sabi ni Ruffa ay na-file niya. Null and void kasi may existing marriage pa siya.

You cannot even keep your stories straight any more.

I can assure you, I've read the Family Code one thousand times already!

I'm very sleepy now....honestly, I need to go to bed...I cant sleep this past few days, kaya I forgot what should I have supposed to say....You should have noticed some of my grammar in sentences in prev,. post...were wrong, it's almost 2 am here in Ohio....To add, before she married Yilmas she should file divorce in US and annulment in PINAS...that's what made it NULL & VOID ABSOLUTELY...Bat ba galit ka sakin....we're just giving info here because she asked for advices/comments on her past situation...COOL ka la lang.....Pinsan ko nga, it seems magkaproblema because she planned to file citizenship but she's married less than 3 yrs to her prior spouse here although she already got her 10 yr. residency status, which is a big plus already....But laws here changed, depending on who's in senate or congress...plus the Pres...
