I played the lottery today, something I usually never do. But my Grandma strongly advised to play today, since her intuition told her so. So I played and boight a ticket for 2 weeks.

I tend to daydream quite a bit, especially on ####### days I imagine what it would be like to win the lottery, win so much money it will last forever without me having to be careful on spendings and to do whatever I want! :P

If you win the lottery, what would you do?

Would you quit your job right away?

Would you continue your job, because you like your colleagues and the money is not the main reason you work there?

Would you start you own business and fullfill your dream of something you always wanted to do?

Or buy houses all over the world and travel? Or just one big house and settle down?

Would you buy lots of fancy cars, a yacht and a private plane? Would you donate to charity?

Status symbols, luxury, investemts, charity - what would you spend your money on?

I think about this from time to time. If I won a big jackpot, I'd divide the net balance into four parts. I'd create a trust for my daughter with one quarter. I'd divide another quarter among my family and my husband's family. I'd give one quarter to various charities, and we'd live on the last quarter. I'd try to finish out my contract with my school, but I'm afraid after a bad day knowing that I didn't really have to be there, I'd throw in the towel.

Hell no I wouldn't go back to work. I wouldn't even go back to collect my stuff.

I'd pay off my sister's house. I'd have my parents house remodeled to be more handicapped friendly. I'd buy my Dad a little car to putt around in instead of him driving the van all over the place.

I'd get a spousal visa for the UK with Indefinite Leave to Remain. Wes would get his US citizenship. We'd travel - a lot. And I mean A LOT.

I'd fly over to NI and surprise my BIL by driving up to his house with his new Mercedes. And I'd have his kitchen redone. While I'm sticking around for the kitchen remodel, I'd buy us a house of our own in Londonderry. Maybe one in Castlerock also.

I'd pay off all our bills and have some work done on our house. I'd buy off the white trash neighbors next door so we could tear down that $hithole.

I'd get a new car. One for my son too.

I'd pay off my son's student loans.

I'd have my former boss handle all the legal stuff. I'd pay him by giving him the money to finish restoring the 150 year old Historic Register house that is his office.

I'd establish a charity for students in my area who want to play a musical instrument.

I'd donate $100K to the Good Samaritan Clinic that took care of Wes' medical needs when he didn't have insurance. $25K to the Volunteer Action Center that helped him get his medications.

I'd sue the cable company. Just for the sheer amusement.

I'd change my phone number.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I'd continue working to finish the project I'm on but after that, I'd ask to take a long leave of absence.

I'd buy a big house or building that would be large enough to accommodate relatives and friends should they ever need a place to live for awhile, but I'd have it designed into separate areas, with large common areas so everyone can gather when needed.

After taking a leave of absence, I'd buy a small camper van and drive all over this great country, meet different people.

I'd set up a grant program for relatives and friends, where they could request money. I'd have a trust fund that would be managed so that it would never run dry. Relatives and friends would have to understand that there's simply not enough to give everyone a lot of money, so the grants would be distributed based on their circumstances and needs.

If there was any money left, I'd like to buy some farm land and find some families that would like to live and work on the farm.

Mine, all mine! Dream on, odds are one in 57 million, but my wife and I like to waste a buck now and then. This baby is faster than any airliner with a range of close to 8,000 miles, top speed is .95 mach, cruises at .85 mach. And it has a rest room. The lines for private aircraft are very short for privately owned aircraft at customs and immigration. And you can fly it exactly where you are headed.

Would I be eligible to tap that grant program too?
