i did not even know that it mattered, that's JAMAICA! who really doesn't there these days on my last trip there i was shocked to see some KIDS! maybe 10 or 12 years old smoking on the street corner.

Although you see at lot of weed smokers in Jamaica, it is very illegal in Jamaica. Your husband will also be going to a US Consulate...just happens to be stationed in Kingston. Please tell your husband that no MATTER what...he has never touched the stuff...if they trip him up or find out that he has indeed used recently it is an automatic 3 year ban with no waiver. There are a couple of yardies here that are dealing with this issue right now.

when my hubby did his medical, they asked him had he ever smoked weed, he said yes, but had stopped months ago, so IDK if they still ran a drug test.

Oh Mrs.Hamilton...I pray this does not hurt you at the interview. From what I have seen/read here they do not tell you at the medical...they will wait until the interview to tell you that he has a ban for three years just from admitting to using in the past...even with a clean test. One yardie woman said her man admitted to using over 7 years or something like that...and he got banned for 3 years. It was really sad. I see your interview is coming up...man I pray that they don't stick you over this...he should have denied it until the cows came home. MAN!

I am so happy i posted this thread before i sent my packet because we had a long talk(my hubby and I) but he said he's good, knowing him i might have to go with him and BANG IT IN HIS HEAD that the past is the past just say NEVER!

mrshamilton I hope this does not hurt him at his interview But then again I'll be praying for you what yours will be yours its only a matter of time!

oh no ms. hamilton!!! i hope this doesnt mess you guys up.....i will be anxious to see the approval at the interview with this admittance at his medical......me and another from VJ know the consequences of this and its not good.....dont mean to get your spirits down but just letting you know from someone who went thru it first hand.....and it wasnt even admitting he had ever smoked.....it was admitting he was around others that smoked.....and my SO blood test came back NEGATIVE for drugs.....we were denied for 2 years last november and have to wait til october 28, 2010 to be eligible for new interview

DaDa, I did i little research and found out that the medial form ask one question and that leads the rest, its very straight forward so as long as your clean and you answer No, your good to go

Current or past use of drugs (including

ganja) not prescribed by a doctor Yes[ ]No[ ]

ps. there are so many Detox products out there

I honestly think it depends on the individual because I've heard a lot since i posted this thread about Medical Exams in Jamaica (not all good but some very good)
