When does tourist visa expire if applied for fiancee visa?

People,

I am trying to find the answer: I am a US citizen and my future wife has tourist visa. We are thinking to get a fiancee visa for a cleaner and faster process but don't know how long it may take to get it.

Do you know if she can come over on tourist visa while her papers for fiancee visa still in work?

The reason is that we plan the wedding in US and i am not sure if fiancee visa will be approved in time for our wedding.

Can she come to the US on a tourist visa while the petition is being processed? Yes (is the short answer). There are other mitigating factors but essentially 'yes.' See VJ Wiki link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1visit

Note: If she comes while the petition is processing and you guys get married - you will effectively have disqualified yourself from obtaining the fiancé visa (since she would no longer be your fiancé).

The good news is that the tourist visa will not expire just because you filed K1, she should still be able to visit you and plan the wedding etc.

However, as PP said, do NOT get married while the fiance visa is pending- that would invalidate the visa plus if she plans on staying in the USA after the wedding, it would be visa fraud.
