As of Monday, it will be 8 weeks since our case was completed at the NVC and still no word. I called yesterday and got the same answer they always give about the second week of the month scheduling. I've looked around and have seen many September appointments around the world, but not in Canada. Strange.

Montreal schedules interviews in a crazy way that I think none of us has yet to figure out. I know eight weeks is a long time to wait. The wait time to find out the interview date was definitely the hardest for us and I think most people around here would agree with that. Hang in there because Montreal most definitely does NOT schedule interviews during the second week of the month like most countries. We received our date on the 23rd of the month and several others did also. I wouldn't be surprised if you hear from them later this month, however, don't be shocked if it's in October or at least very late September. Best of luck! :)

Thanks - it is crazy! I've been wanting to schedule a vacation, but without an interview date, it's kind of pointless. Oh well, I guess I'll just keep waiting...of course, now I can start calling them on Monday to say it's been 8 weeks (that's the time frame they give on the automated response).

You say its been 8 weeks since your case was completed at NVC, but do you know exactly when Montreal received your case and logged it into the system? Sometimes this can take longer than you'd expect. It took our case almost a month to travel from the NVC, to Montreal, then for the consulate to receive and process us. I know K-1 are quite different, but the wait times when you get to the consulate are normally quite similar. I would call DOS and ask them when Montreal logged your case, if you don't know already, and you may find you haven't really been waiting as long as you think. I know this doesn't help the situation much, but you'd at least have a better understanding of where you're at as far as wait times go. But, I completely understand your pain, waiting on the interview is the worst part of the process, there are so many unknowns! Best of luck to you and let us know how it goes. Just as a tip, I found e-mailing Montreal to be the most effective way of getting a direct response!

Thanks for the suggestions! I have called the NVC and I got the impression that they don't forward the case until the interview is scheduled, but who knows? I will start calling the NVC on Monday to see what's going and maybe e-mail the consulate as well to see if they've received anything - good idea. Thanks.

You are exactly correct. For CR1/IR1 visas, your case will not be sent to the consulate until after your interview is scheduled. Definitely start calling them on Monday. Their window will totally be lapsed by then. Just from watching the timeline thread for Montreal CR1/IR1 interviews, I really would guess that you'll get scheduled during the last two weeks of this month.

We are K3, but our interview is scheduled for September 10th in Montreal. They put in this interview on August 3rd (we called DOS on that day). The consulate received our packet June 10th, so it took 3 months to get an interview.

Does anyone have the best number to reach the DOS? We've had our case approved on June 4th, 2009 and we're waiting for an interview in Montreal also. Any help would be appreciated.

Steve

For IR1/CR1 you can just call NVC.

Hey all...

I'm new to the waiting for an interview in Montreal club... our case was just completed on August 12th... but I did call this morning, I call every day and they actually invite me to, and the woman with whom I spoke this morning said, 'well, we haven't' finished scheduling interviews yet, most likely by the end of next week...'

not sure what this all means and I am NOT expecting to be scheduled an interview any time soon but just thought I'd let you all know what I found out so we can keep each other abreast of the situation?

Best of luck to you guys...

:)

LGG, I could be proven wrong, but my best guess is that your interview will be October. Hopefully.

My wife's case was completed at the NVC on June 4th. We really hoped for an August interview, but it's going to be September, hopefully. We're still waiting to hear on an interview date. Based on the IR1/CR1 Montreal timeline posted elsewhere here I'm thinking it might be tomorrow that we hear, or next Tuesday (looks like everyone who had August interviews heard on July 23rd). All we can do is wait. *SIGH*.

Hey there Steve...

It's what I was thinking and to be frank? That'd be just fine by me... we have to remember, October is NOT that far away! Plus, I have so much stuff to take care of here, any sooner would flip me right out. Not to mention, I'm off off to see my husband for labour day so...

Anyway...

Let's all wait together,k? I find it helpful in this process to band with people in like situations, makes it easier...

Thanks for your input...

Best of luck to you and here's to your September interview!

:D

Hi LGG,

Thanks for the info. I just called this morning and the NVC guy told me that all September interviews were scheduled. I asked, "Are you sure," and he said he was. I swear, I think the people on the phone aren't given much info and they just sort of make stuff up to tell the callers. Anyway, I am a little less worried about WHEN it is, except that I'd like to have a date because I was planning to travel out of North America for a couple of weeks in October. I don't want to make plans until I have a date for fear the dates will overlap. It's frustrating to wait around, but I have it much easier than other VJ'ers since I can stay in Canada with my spouse.

Good luck to you, too.

Meh... of course there's conflicting information -- oh well, I am eager to finish all this stuff and I too would like a date -- make us wait for the interview, fine but at least give us a date so we can figure out stuff and plan and prepare...

It's funny, eh? The inconsistency in their information? The thing is, i have had almost every operator tell me the same thing, not finished scheduling yet, blah, blah, blah and I have been calling since the 12th (save the weekends)...

Anyway... just prattling...

We'll keep each other posted and see how these chips fall...

:)
