Our AOS interview was yesterday. Took all of about 5 minutes. The officer just wanted to see proof of cohabitation, marriage, and vaccination records. No personal questions, no grilling. Green card is in production and we are the hell done for 2 years.

Congrats Mox!

Is that going to be an "imaginary green card" for your "imaginary wife?"

I guess I can send you an "imaginary congrats!"

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

Exactly. Although I should caution you that imaginary as she can be, she does know how to use a very real hand gun now. :D

Very real thanks! :D

At the interview, the officer called me back first. He asked open ended questions about how we met, and how our relationship developed for about five minutes. Then he brought Vika back and asked the same things to see if our stories matched. He then told us the green card was approved, and told Vika to immediately destroy the AP and EAD documents when the green card arrives, as it is illegal to have both (EAD being a non-immigrant document, and GC being based on immigrant status). Vika was told that under no circumstances was she allowed to vote (duh), and that she should take care not to let the DMV register her when she gets her license, as this is a deportable offence and no waiver or appeal is possible. Then he warned us about the deadline for lifting conditions, and let us go. Total of maybe 15 minutes.

We had never heard about the voting issue, or the need to get rid of the EAD and AP documents. Wanted to pass it along.

WOW!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Congratulations Mox!!! :lol::dance::dance:

I can only hope our dreaded interview next Friday (9/11) goes as smoothly!

As of:

June 26, 2012 - The Hubbs received his 10-year Permanent Residency Card (aka THE Greencard) in the mail today!

At long last, this highly stressful leg of our journey has come to a close - for now - and we couldn't be more grateful and appreciative for all the tremendous help and support here on VJ! Without VisaJourney I doubt we would be where my husband and I are today! Thanks to all!

Is she shootin the Sig? AWESOME!!!!

When my ol' lady first started messing with my Para she could barely pull open the slide. But, after jacking with it for a few days, she's got it down now. She still hasn't shot it yet, but she's pretty good on the .22 rifle. We had to have a long deep conversation - "this is my rifle, this is my gun..... this one's for fighting and, well, you already know what to do with the other one. Yep, I know you don't like to shoot it either... but you should at least know how!"

got the greencard today... 13 days after interview

Easy peezy lemon squeezy. Now it's official. I'm suing the USCIS for sex discrimination.

Yep. I draw a maple leaf on the "chest" area of the target. She almost never misses. :D

No response at all from up north. The usual suspects must be on holiday.
