I'll die of old age before Danno or Luckystrike or any of their cronies post a thread denouncing stuff like Limbaugh calling our President a Nazi.

I don't equate political commentators to senior politicians because commentators are looking for ratings and can be more irresponsible by the nature of their business.

Pelosi with her "swastikas"

Reid with his "evil-mongers"

Dingell with his "KKK"

We expect more from our senior leaders bashing Americans going to townhall meetings. Many of them look long in the tooth but we're told to fear people in their scooter chairs. You can disagree with the opinions of the the outspoken types in the townhalls but the Democrats are way off in characterizing the opposition.

In the end though its the age old "two wrongs make a right" philosophy that far too many people (and VJers) apparently don't have an issue with.

Right Wing Rhetoric= Good

Left Wing Rhetoric = Bad

Denouncing Both = High Horse (your words)

Let me give another example of how your defense is weak: If I made comment that "all VJ Right are Nazis" I'm sure there would be backlash. I am neither a politician nor a commentator, yet I'm sure plenty people would take issue with such a remark.

Nowhereman, if you want to equate politicians with political pundits, feel free to do so. Accept the fact that some of us don't see them as equal or deserving of equal admonishment. I tend toward greater sanctimony about the attitudes of elected leadership who have the power to tax and spend. Besides, we have you and Pike to be outraged over the partisanship for the rest of us exhibit. You're doing a good job of being outraged, but directing it at us is a non-starter.

Perhaps you do, but this constant refrain that women politicians have to be hot chicks and that this is somehow pertinent to having a political clue is both insulting and ridiculous.

I think it's the same with just about any female public figure. More often than not, women look better than men. So as a woman ages and generally begins to lose her looks (at least to some degree), it's far more noticeable than with most men.

That's why women who aren't startling beautiful tend to get more serious roles and have a longer acting career in Hollywood. Their appeal was based more on their acting ability than their overall attractiveness.

Granted, that's Hollywood, but nearly any woman in the public eye -- whether she's an actress, singer or politician -- will be similarly scrutinized. Maybe that's not fair, but that's what happens when you have a society that generally prizes youth and beauty over experience, intelligence and knowledge.
