My wife ask me a question maybe someone can answer it.

Can she take our son with her to the interview? He is already a USC and does not need a visa.

or would she have to leave him with someone outside ?

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

I doubt they will let him in. The Bangkok embassy has a strict policy of not letting in anyone who is not scheduled for an interview during interview hours. I would make other arrangements for your son.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

Just talked to my wife about this: she said she saw one girl with her 2 or 3 year old son in the interview room when she was there for her K1. I was a bit surprised to hear this since the embassy definitely does not let spouses, friends, or other significant others into the building during interview hours. I knew this before my wife's interview and they did indeed deny me entry as well during her interview. Maybe they make an exception for small children, but I wouldn't bet on it. Just to be safe, you might want to have your wife bring someone with who can watch your son in case they do not let him in. Good luck.

Edit: It might be possible that this kid was trying to get a visa with her mom. I don't know anything about how one goes about bringing related children with a spouse or fiancee or how that process works, so I can only speculate. You might want to email the embassy and ask as well. There is a specific address you need to write them at and you need to use a properly formatted subject.
