In about 2 weeks NVC will have your 2 cases, and a NVC number will be assigned to them. The I-130 will live at NVC till you reply to them on it, for the I-129F it stays there long enough to give it a case number then they send to the U.S. Embassy where your spouse is at. Follow all instructions from there with the embassy.

Truly happy!!!

Thanks Paris.. I just received a letter from National Visa Center (NVC) that they have received my I130, should I be expecting another letter from them now saying that they have also received I129F case ? How long does it take for for them to receive I129F since they already have I130 there ? Thanks!!

Just give it a few days, its funny my I-130 was approved, then 2 days later my I-129F but my I-129F got to the NVC first.

You wont get a letter from NVC for the I-129F you need to call them, talk straight to a operator on your I-129F she will tell you its sent to the NVC or God forbid, the I-129F is in AP like mine, YUCK!!!!

Truly happy!!!

Thanks again!!

I see you have "NVC RECEIVED I-130 08/14/09 Going to start process with NVC, who knows may finish it before we get out of AP for the I-129F K3 petition.".. So you guys are gonna proceed with I-130 now and forget about I-129F ?

I truly dont know, hubbies PCC and BC expired, and takes a while to get from ALgeria to Paris, head in my hands shaking head over this whole Friggin nightmare process. Guess will flip a coin and go with that on Aug. 31 that is how long we are giving the AP to complete for the K3. But honestly, I will start the I-130 process what can it hurt maybe lose $70.00 in it, go with the flow. Sorry Im rambling, better to ramble or I will start crying again.

Truly happy!!!

Just curious my husband and I have been following the boards to see if we can find answers to our questions...I notice a lot of people can track there progress online? or by phone? or possibly by paperwork what is what we have been doing....we are in the same position as USA81 our paperwork was approved and sent off to NVC how do we know when it will get there? Do they mail out the case number? Do they have an online system like USCIS?

I'm in Canada and I travel back and forth to be with my husband until we are through this nightmare. Can I get the medical done in the states, oddly it is cheaper than going to Montreal for a day and then travelling again for the interview.

my husband has made over the poverty line for just coming up on a year will we need a sponsor?

I have a psychiatric condition that has been stable for over 4 years is this going to hinder me?

Just a few question to tag on...

The NVC doesn't have an online system like the USCIS. You will need the USCIS case number of the I129F and you will have to call 603-334-0700 to use the automated voice recorder to get your NVC case number.

I'm in Canada and I travel back and forth to be with my husband until we are through this nightmare. Can I get the medical done in the states, oddly it is cheaper than going to Montreal for a day and then travelling again for the interview.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe you have to get it in Canada at the designated medical office.

my husband has made over the poverty line for just coming up on a year will we need a sponsor?

If he made over the poverty level, then no, you will not need a co-sponsor.

I have a psychiatric condition that has been stable for over 4 years is this going to hinder me?

I would suggest getting a report from your doctor about the stability of your condition just in case.

Brandi,

I'm pretty new to this process but I can help you answering this question..

"we are in the same position as USA81 our paperwork was approved and sent off to NVC how do we know when it will get there? Do they mail out the case number? Do they have an online system like USCIS?"

Once your I-130 and I-129F applications get approved, they will forward them to National Visa Center(NVC).. After about a week, you will receive a letter from them saying that they have received your I-130 case (will also assign a case number) and you need to pay some fee (I think $70) before they could proceed with your case and send it to your consulate..

You will NOT receive anything for your 1-129F case, you will have to call NVC to get the status of your case (give them your ESC***).. They will tell you either it's under administrative processing (AP) or they have forwarded it to your embassy in Canada..

I called them yesterday and they told me that my case has been mailed to my consulate.. so now I will probably go down to K3 route.. Thanks!!
