I was a trauma nurse in the ER. In 2001 I had a really bad back injury and surgery that ended my nursing career. I miss working in the ER so much. I loved being a flight nurse on the helicopter too. I have reoccurring dreams about working in the ER. I am taking care of patients and everything. I will think in my dream that I did not pick up my paycheck from the last time I worked (in my dream) and I am tickled because it should be a good check. Then I get scared because I think I will lose my disability benefits if they found out I am working.

As for my dream life - I enjoy it very much since when I do remember my dreams they are rather entertaining as I tend to dream of people I know and yes I have dreamt of VJ folks as well. I guess it shows that I don't have the most exciting life so I must make up for it in my dreams

Now talking about recurring dreams, when I was little I used to dream of a single flower in a dark desert that would get crushed by a bulldozer - any idea what the heck that means??? LOL

In dreams it is said that everything is a representation of us. It would depend on what feeling the flower and the desert and the bulldozer gave to you and what else happened in the dream so I can't say. Sometimes it takes years for a dream to unfold it's full meaning to us.

HI everyone,

I have a vivid memory of my dreams too, many feel like deja vue ,many repeat this freaks me out cos i tend to think it has a some meaning to it....I have a book on dreams but it makes NO sense to me ...

AMANA ( KIM)

I read some of those books and I remember babies mean new projects in our life. Upstairs in a house means the future, the first floor means the present and the basement means the past. I find some of the interpretations don't match in various books and others do.

Sounds like a part of your life is still very much a part of you and your subconscious and your conscious meet and get confused about the past and present.

In some dreams I find I tell myself I know I am dreaming and to wake up.

Happy Friday everyone, I'm sorry to post and run, but I am stressing about something. My daughter (almost six years old) has lost two pounds in the last two weeks that we've been in Egypt. She only weighed 46lbs to begin with, so two pounds is a pretty big loss for her. I'm worried about it continuing, since it's still a struggle to get her to eat anything, either from lack of desire to eat at all (from the heat) or from lack of desire to eat what is available. Right now I am just monitoring it, trying to get her to eat as much nutritious food as she can, and am more or less forcing her to eat at least one good meal a day. She hasn't had (much) diarrhea or anything like that, so it seems to be purely related to not eating enough. It's making this mama crazy. :help:

She doesn't even want a McDonalds meal? Don't they have McDonalds or pizzas there? I know that's not very nutritious but at least she will be eating something...

So glad Friday is almost at it's end. I'm pooped!!!

I have a question.....why is it that anything involving MENA or Muslims people, there is ALWAYS a delay? Nothing starts on time!! NOTHING! I can not think of ONE time that something has started exactly when it is supposed too in the MENA world. If it's not delayed it's not put together well (whatever IT may be). At least that's my experience anyhow.

I went to the mosque for a lecture tonight about Ramadan. So on the website it says the lecture would be 8-10pm, I didn't know why they didn't just say that it would start after the maghib since it was at around 8:20ish today. So anyways we prayed the maghrib and afterwards I start to notice all this food being brought in (I'm thinking cool, we're gonna eat - even though I already ate, that would NEVER stop me, lol). Turns out one of the sisters was having a walima the same night. Well long story short, the lecture started at 10pm and I couldn't hear most of it anyhow over all the food chopping and women talking. MashaAllah I love to see our ummah like this but a little disappointed about not hearing the lecture.

Alrighty...gonna watch my bollywood movie and then call it a night. Have a good rest of Friday everyone...whatever is left of it.

How long til you come home amy? Is she weak or still active?

Jackie (F)

She is still very active-- probably one of the problems! She burns off way more than she eats. I finally got her to eat a bowl of ramen noodles today, that was probably the most she's eaten in two or three days. We are not due to leave until September 18th, so we still have over a month to go.

She doesn't even want a McDonalds meal? Don't they have McDonalds or pizzas there? I know that's not very nutritious but at least she will be eating something...

I got her a happy meal at McD's once, but didn't realize that happy meals here come with a chicken sandwich, not a cheeseburger like at home, so she only ate the fries. I'm not sure if they deliver way out here, but I've never seen any of their little delivery guys out here, so I'm guessing not. I ordered pizza for her last week thinking she'd enjoy it, but it was like pulling teeth to get her to eat even one piece. Today all she has eaten is two tomatoes, a cup of chocolate milk, two chocolate chip cookies and the bowl of ramen, and it's about 10pm.:unsure:
