Deadline for AOS application?

Greetings,

My wife arrived in the U.S. from Colombia on April 30 of this year on a K-1 Visa.

We were married a month and a half later, and have just now received her Social Security card in the mail.

I'm working on getting the paperwork together to mail off the AOS packet, and hope to send it off in the next 2 or 3 weeks.

I called USCIS a few weeks ago because I was a little concerned about being late on the AOS app., but I couldn't find any reference to a deadline in any of the instructions that I have. The USCIS rep. told me that once the fiance(e) arrives in the U.S. he/she has three months to get married, but beyond that there is no deadline for sending off the AOS application.

I'm sure there would be consequences if one waited too long to do the AOS, but was the rep. correct in telling me this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions/comments,

Eugenio

(p.s. I'm working on putting together the timeline, just haven't had a chance.)

There is no offical deadline for filing AOS.... as long as you were married within the 90 days allowed on K1 then you are fine... some people have waited a few weeks after the 90 days to file AOS other have waited a few months...

Dont worry just file as soon as you can...
