I sent mine in on August 5, was received on the 7th and my NOA1 is dated August 12!!!

Count me in! I sent mine 8/13, and it was received Friday 8/14 (except after hours-stupid fedex had some "national disruption."). Waiting for my NOA1! I better start checking my mail...

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

we are still waiting for our NOA1 hardcopy. my hubby mailed the package august 1st. it got to chicago lockbox on the 3rd. they cashed the check on the 10th. and still waiting for that NOA1. we already have the receipt number tho. got it from the back of his check when they cashed it. also we are still not in the system. i keep checking everyday if they already put us on there.

i am beginning to wonder if it's because my hubby put his apartment address (reno) in the form but a PO Box on the cover letter? we argue about it. i say they will send it to his apartment, which i worry about (again) because he lives alone and nobody is there to receive it in case they indeed send it there. he keeps saying they will send it to his PO box. his PO Box is in a small town where his mom lives. this is driving me nuts not knowing. some of u sent your packages after us and already got your NOA1 hardcopy and we still haven't gotten ours :crying: i am starting to really get worried :unsure:

There is no need to worry, you have the Receipt Number from the bank and the check was cashed so you know they have the file. Also, the NOA1 forms are sent by the US Post Office, so if they sent it to his apartment, it should be left in the mailbox or whatever they use to collect mail there (put through a slot in the door, etc.). I live alone too (my husband is in Canada and even when he is here he doesn't check my mail) and mine was left in my mailbox with my other mail.

What he could do, on the NOA form itself, the last paragraph states: If your address changes - If you mailing address changes while your case in pending, call 800-375-5283 or use the "Online Change of Address" function on our website. Otherwise, you might not receive notice of action on this case.

So if you are still fighting over it, ask him to call the phone number and change the address to his mailing address so you know he will get all the forms and notices you need.

No NOA1 mailed yet, but I know for sure they emptied my fedex box. If you didn't see it in another post, USCIS sent my photo book back and I got it today! It was mailed on Monday. My package was signed for after hours last Friday night. Bad news is I worked my butt off on this photo book for nothing! Good news is they opened up my package on Monday!

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg
