oh man i loved the Rocky movies, watched them all with my dad when i was younger, i gotta say the trailer for the new movie looks pretty good

gosh... i know my dad will be dragging my mom to go see rocky.

its just another in a long line of older guys trying to stay relevant...

indiana jones 4 is in the works for 2008 (though admittedly, i WILL go see it... i (L) indy...)

rambo 4 and die hard 4 are also coming next year

there was supposed to be a 4th mad max but it appears that has been scrapped, at least for now.

I think this is such a joke & kinda sad that Sly has apparantly refused to exit gracefully.

Up until Rocky 5, I was like 'ok this aint bad'...but Rocky 5 and now 6? HANG UP THE GLOVES ROCK!

The other embarrassing thing is that he was the host of that reality tv boxing show...YOU ARE NOT A BOXER SLY! YOU ARE AN ACTOR WHO PORTRAYED A BOXER! Like #######...should he be showing up at Veteran's conventions dressed in fatigues (don't get me started on Rambo either)

It's just sad, it's going to flop, and that's that...

This movie won't be V. Although V was not terrible. It was consistent with the story line established to that point. The thing people hated is that he did not get back into the ring, which was always the appeal. He tried to evolve the character but it did fall short.

As far as "The Contender" goes, he had Sugar Ray Leonard on that show. He did not portray himself as a boxing professional in that show. It was a good lure for attention given his background with the Rocky films and his interest in boxing. He wanted to bring real life underdog stories to life. That was the theme in his movies as well. Yes, I'm sure he is looking for attention as well but what actor isn't? I didn't have a problem with him being part of the series and to be honest I think it did a lot of good in trying to repair some of the image problems boxing has today.
