I remember that - they had to villify the Russian guy on all levels. If they made that movie today it would probably be a comedy

Hmmm....if they took the issues of today and worked them in, then Rocky would be fighting somebody from Iran or North Korea. The audience would go nuts for that.

The Russian guy was villified on all levels, but in the end turned his back on those ways. Even the Russian crowd turned on Drago!

That is some genious and now classic music. It is the theme music for the average American. Rocky is an example that heart and dedication can win.....you don't have to be the biggest or baddest thing out there.....sometimes all you need is one shot. One shot can change your life. For everyone that shot is different, but it is how we respond in that moment that is important. That's the appeal of the Rocky movies......getting beat down and not quitting....just like life. The boxing may be terrible technically, but that really isn't the point in the end. Anything is possible if you want it bad enough.....good lesson for anyone.

I love a good comeback/underdog story and Rocky has always been a favorite of mine.

And heck yes I get fired up! Especially at the age I saw it. I was very impressionable at that time as well. C'mon and say something - I'll kick your @ss! "I can't be beat, I won't be beat......I've retired more men than social security".
