Nice.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Sorry but if you see how shaken up this girl is....clearly she has been exposed to some abuse by the hands of her father

My father also said I was dead to him too but I didn't get hysterical and feel the need for protection.

Saying "you're dead to me" does not equal making a threat to kill someone.

anyone who even wishes or "considers" their loved one dead must not really be all that loving  and I would not

feel all that comfortable....not even a little, with such a threat

I'm from Ohio as well and hadn't heard this either but thank you for sharing.

Well, in my opinion "Honor Killings" are very wrong as I believe everybody else will agree on this board.

I am sure the father was fit to be tied when he found out about his daughter converting. I think a lot of us would feel like that if it were Christianity to Islam or the same here Islam to Christianity. I can only draw off of my conclusion here and say that her father threw a bad fit and said some really bad things to her because he was hurt that everything he supposably taught her and felt betrayed. She's a kid and if this happened 4 years ago from one article that I read she was a very very young kid at the time and could have been coerced..maybe, maybe not. Only she knows and what is in her heart.

I do pray for her safety and that her father doesn't go postal on her. As far as the couple that took her in that she had been corresponding with it seems a little strange that they didn't post her as a runaway with the local officials until lately. The child obviously was conversing with them and found her way to them and they had to know at that time her showing up at their home without her parents or conversation with her parents something was strange. That would have been your sign right there. The girl spending two weeks with them before they figured out she was a runaway is just too fishy to me. I think it was planned.

BTW....saying your dead to me is more than likely saying you have hurt me so bad I have washed my hands with you. It doesn't always deem you want the other person dead or will kill them. We had to use this tact on tough love with my sister and her drug abuse...she was dead to us if she continued to carry on in her abusive ways and continue to kill our family slowly by her actions.

Did anybody read the comments? Interesting to see the thoughts of how people read into stuff.

Again, thanks for sharing and praying for this child's safety in her future with whomever it is with.

Tash

I do think that she must have been conversing with this couple before "landing" with them.

I am sure that he reacted just the way you said, who knows in reality what happened, but if you ask me

she seemed pretty darn upset to have to face him.

(F) i will keep her and everyone involved in my prayers (F) i hope it was a misunderstanding, and her parents were just upset, and have had time to cool off.

A teenager runs away from home and strangers from the internet take her in, but somehow her parents are villains.

If these people were not Christians, people would probably be calling them predators.

THANK YOU!

Sheesh, its all in the first line: The Muslim parents of an Ohio teenager who fled to Florida fearing an "honor killing" for converting to Christianity today blamed their daughter's fears on the husband and wife pastors who took their daughter in and didn't report her presence for more than two weeks

and "global revolution" is in the name of the church..sounds crazy/culty to me, sorry if that offends anyone.

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

yeah i guess at first you are so upset by seeing "honor" killing

another take on the girl being so upset could be because she was gone from home all that time and who knows what relationship she has with this Christian couple and if they are influencing her. So going back home could be a little scary

I kind of have this certain attitude lately where parents aren't even entitled to their title as PARENTS...whenever you try to put your foot down, discipline or establish rules you end up having your kids smear your name or try to get you in trouble for what is inherently OUR RIGHT.
