my neighbor did the deed ...

I find it interesting that no one from this forum appears to be the least bit surprised to learn that someone living next door to you would consider suicide to be a viable alternative.

Well you are very moral and righteous person for caring about the death of all mankind. Kudos.

I'm not saying go outside, fall to the ground any cry but at least have some sympathy and respect.

Why does wondering about the expense of police officers automatically denote disrespect and lack if sympathy?

I was surprised at the number of people and the amount of time needed to record the event. I had a neighbor 30 years ago do the deed ... it took 1/3 the resources to record that event. Guess what I saw tonight was progress .....

After reading the responses .. it appears nobody can answer why it takes so many people to record this sad event. years ago it took 1/3 the amount of people to record an event of this type ... guess it's progress to need 3x the people to record a death.

So much for gov't efficiency...

When it happened 30 years ago, was it a Democratic or Republican administration? I'm thinking it could be Obama's fault.

Evening Mrs. C, how's the weather?

Hot, humid and muggy. But no farting husband so the air quality is excellent. :P

And how are you Spooky?

Muggy here too. I'm glad that your air quality is good.

what no response? I answered your question. Why was the administration important? Or are you really what you now appear to be?

You're actually asking that clown a question. This is the same guy (Mr anonymity as I call him) who has said, wait for it, Boston out of all places is a tough guy city.

Well ... put up or shut up ... spooky just spoke volumes with silence.

Dude suicide happens about 3000 times a day, 1.1m times a year. What do you expect, wailing and crying...The thread is about the amount of people at the scene not the actual deed. Go cry in a corner by yourself and come on back when your done.

I expect some sympathy from the neighbor.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

What sort of losers make jokes in a thread about the death of someone? Oh wait, answered my question.

thank you for the post. a death diminishes everyone.

how many people are required to record the death? 1? 10? 16? 25? and for how long does it take? what is excessive?

Well I am no expert, but when I took Death and Dying in Uni, it took at least 2 people in a hospital. 1 had to be a doctor to pronounce the death. Because in medical terms death is a symptom and needs to be "diagnosed". Another party (usually a nurse) to record the death. So alas, I'd say 2 people.
