My fiancee and I will be going to the U.S. on Aug. 25. She received her K-1 visa on July 28. She had her medical examination and required vaccinations on June 6. I have just noticed that some of her vaccinations require a second dose 4 to 8 weeks after the initial shot. This would mean that she should have had her second round of shots before leaving for the U.S. Is it a requirement that her vaccinations be up to date when entering the U.S.? Will there be any problems with customs and immigration upon arrival in the U.S.? Can she receive the second stage of shots in the U.S. even though the recommended 8 weeks for second shot has passed?

We are in Thailand now and it may be difficult for her to obtain the second round of vaccinations without traveling to a major city, hospital, which I would like to avoid at this point.

If anyone knows the answer to these questions or has any personal first hand experience with this issue, I would appreciate some advice.

Thanks in advance

One is not required to have any vaccinations on K-1 entry into the US. These will only be required when Adjusting Status (AOS).

That said, some Doctors do require certain vaccinations, prior to releasing the medical exam report to the Embassy/Consulate. Given that the visa has been issued, worry not and press on. All the best!
