Just need some help before sending off my application

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I just want to make sure that I send all of my application forms to the right place.

I-130

I-485 (along with affidavit of support and medical info)

I-131

I-765 (I'm filing for adjustment of status, and renewal of EAD - had OPT on student visa before).

Do they all go to:

USCIS

PO Box 805887

Chicago, IL 60680-4120

Also, do I send two separate cheques: (1) $1010 for I-485 and (2)$355 for I-130 or is it OK to send one cheque covering the whole amount?

I'd be really grateful if somebody could get back to me tonight because I want to send everything off tomorrow. Yikes!

Moving from 'AOS from Family Based Visas' to 'AOS from Work, Student & Tourist Visas'.

The address is right, the amounts are right,it has to be 2 separate checks just like you thought.

I hope you did not forget to include G-325A Biographic Information Form for you and your spouse:

-4 pages yours with I-485

-4 pages yours with I-130

-4 pages your spouse's G-325A with I-130

You have to sign and date all of them.

Um, I forgot to mention that I'm filing for adjustment of status because I got married to a US citizen, so I think my post was better off where it was first. I arrived in 2004 as an F-1 student, graduated in 2008, applied for and received OPT, and married my husband in April of this year. Sorry for the inconvenience.

No, I certainly didn't forget the G-325A forms. I must have forgotten to mention it in my last post because I was so traumatized by having to fill out all those boring forms so many times!

I still have a few other questions...

(1) On form I-131, what box do I check in Part 2. I've checked (d): "I am applying for an advance parole document to allow me to return to the United States after temporary foreign travel". I'm assuming this is correct because on p3 of the instructions it says: "You may apply [for advance parole document] if Form I-485 is pending, and your seek to travel abroad for emergent personal reasons or bona fide business reasons."

(2) On form I-765, am I applying for permission to accept employment; or am I applying for renewal of my permission to accept employment? I'm going with the latter because I already had an EAD (through OPT) which expired last month.

I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance!

You originally posted in the forum for people adjusting status from Family Based (K) visas. I moved to your post to the forum for people adjusting status from Work, Student & Tourist visas - so it was moved correctly.

1) D is what you check in part 2.

2) I think work authorization card is completely different from your OPT. On I-765 it says: I am applying for:

-permission to accept employment

-Replacement(of lost employment authorization document)

- Renewal..(attach previous employment authorization document).

I'm not sure if F-1 students recieve employment authorization card, but if they don't, that means 2 last options do not apply to them either way, and then it's PERMISSION TO ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT.

Remember, work authorization card based upon your marriage to a USC lets you work anywhere in the US, not just on campus, so I assume that should be the first time you are getting the card.

Inna, when F-1 students graduate they have the option of applying for OPT (Optional Practical Training) which allows them to work ANYWHERE (not just on campus) in a job in their field for 12-18 months (the longer period is for those students with a science/math background). If OPT is approved, then F-1 visa holders do indeed receive an EAD.
