K1 Beneficiary using passport

I will be sending of of my petition for K1 fiance by week end and I am curious if anyone has ever filed for a fiance that uses the passport for the country they were born in, but not where they are currently living?

My fiance lives in Antigua, but travels frequently and only with his passport from Guyana, which is where he is originally from. He is an Antiguan citizen, but simply prefers using his Guyana passport, as he never applied for an Antiguan passport. Will this cause any confusion or slow the process for us? Anyone ever deal with anything similar. I am trying to best prepare for this process as much as I can. Thanks!

No it should be fine. The paper you file will state his country of birth and his current residence. You can only carry one PP at at time and he chose his birth country. Dont worry youre cool!

He won't need a passport from anywhere when you initially file the K1 visa.

Not to nitpick, but that's technically untrue. You just have to make sure that you only ever present one passport per point of entry. Dual citizenship is completely possible in a lot of cases.

Normally it is not a problem for a person who is a resident of another country other than where they are a citizen. However, in this case you say he is a CITIZEN on Antigua. He then needs to get a passport from that country. It will not affect your petition, but for the interview he will need a current, valid passport from the country where he is a citizen, which I am sure you will list as Antigua. I do not know if Guyana and Antigua allow dual citizenship, but I would suggest he get an Antigua passport before the interview

My mistake, he is indeed a resident and not a citizen and only had and uses his Guyana passport.
