My appointemnt is in some days, because of work reasons my husband can't go with me, is that gonna be a problem?

And, I live in Northwest Florida, always have to go to Jacksonville or New Orleans for my appointments, for my Oath, are they gonna ask me to go to any of theses places?

I wish you all the best and, thanks again for all the help!

Your husband is not required to go.

However, if your N-400 is based on the 3-yr rule, then bring as many docs as you can that prove the legitimacy of the marriage. Pretend it's your green card interview.

We were bounced back and forth between St. Paul and Milwaukee, just got in the car and pointed it in the right direction. Went with my wife for her interview, her IO wouldn't even acknowledge my existence. But was there to support my wife, your husband does not have to attend. A piece of paper with my name on it was more important to her IO than me. Her interview lasted 41 minutes, mostly proving to her IO we were married. Wife was offended by being asked if she was a prostitute three times, but her IO was big, fat, and ugly, maybe she wanted to be a prostitute. Civics and English test took less than two minutes, then my wife had to read the oath aloud and sign it. Only had to do lip service during her oath, that was another long trip for us.

Only read one post where the IO wanted to meet the husband of the wife being interviewed in the 15 months since I joined this board. Others didn't want to see the original documents, and even others got their certificate immediately after their interview. All depends on your field office, and your IO, you have no choice on this, that is where good luck comes in. Wish you good luck.

My husband went with me for support yesterday to my interview. I asked the IO if he could come into the interview with me and she said no. He sat and waited for me in the waiting room. It should be absolutely no problem for you if your husband is not able to make it. Good luck at your interview.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hello Guys, this is my insight about this issue, I hope this helps you out. YOUR HUSBAND DON'T HAVE TO GO, EVEN I don't know if you realized that he didn't have to sign the form; the form is just for you. Hence, the N400 is based on a 3 year marriage, or maybe much better a 2 and 9 months green card marriage, of course you have to go with everything and very prepared. The only thing I tell you, PLEASE REVIEW AND CHECK ALL THE DOCUMENTS YOU ARE GOING TO GO TO THE INTERVIEW. IF THE OFFICER OF NATURALIZATION DON'T ASK DOCUMENTS, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TO HIM. TRY TO CARRY OUT TO THE INTERVIEW THE MOST AS YOU CAN BUT NOT TOO MUCH, SOMETIMES THE OFFICERS DON'T LIKE TO WATCH TOO MUCH PAPERWORK BECAUSE OF THEIR TIME AND THEY WANT TO APPROVE THE CASE AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE OF COURSE FOLLOWING ALL THE STRICT RULES.

So normally, the USC spouse will not be allowed to join during the interview?I guess I will just go alone then.. it's just 30 minutes drive anyway and let hubby watch the kid. :star:
