Choosing CR-1

Hi guys,

I'm new here and I need some advise. I'm a USC looking to sponsor my Canadian wife, we are both living in Canada right now so we want to take the CR-1 route not the K-3 route. What do we have to do in order for immigration to know this? I know we have to send in the I-130 along with the bigraphical forms and pictures...blah blah bla. But I just don't understand how we choose to do CR-1??? Please help!! Is this something we chose to do after the petition if approved?

Filing the I-130 with the biographical forms etc, will automatically put you on the CR-1 path. The i-129F filed after the NOA-1 of the I-130 is how you 'choose' follow the K-3 path.

So do we ignore the 1-129f forms after the NOA1 if we don;t want to do the K3? What did you guys do?

We just filed the I-130 with out supplimentary documentation and that was it.

K-3 is basically obolsolete, follow the Cr-1 guides to help you on your journey and to know what to expect.
