I was just wondering when you get an RFE will it actually say it on the USCIS website.. or will it say that your case is still pending..?

the answer could be yes to both... the CRIS system is inconsistent

YMMV

will i have any luck calling? and asking what the status is? we put ours in around may and waiting for second letter

You've got a ways to go (like until around October) - calling now will likely only get you the same information you can already see on the USCIS web site.

Hang in there...

I don't see how this (changing your address) would affect the normal processing of your petition at USCIS. They only way that I could see is if for some reason you got an RFE and the notice was sent to an address you no longer receive mail. When you do a change of address with USCIS, they will tell you it could take 45 days for it to update in the system but it rarely takes that long (plus you can call to make sure you're updated in the system).

If you already know the address you're moving to and you can already receive mail there (in other words, someone there will tell you if you get mail and hold it for you), I'd be inclined to do the change of address now.
