Hello Everyone:

My wife did not receive any letter from the US consulate in Cairo but they did receive our package according to their website mentioned in my signature.

I was wondering if she needs to go for Medical exam prior to the interview or after, since we dont know the accredited doctors where to go and get this done.

Also, if someone recently got their Visa; can you please PM me or send me a brief overview of the fees and the experience at the Embassy during the interview process.

I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

In our case which was about a year and a half ago we had to email the embassy to receive packet 3 ( I believe) and this had the instructions for the medical exam in it. My husband had to either mail this in or bring it with him. I can't remember but it was prior to the interview date. It took about a week to get the blood work results in so I would probably see if somebody has the instructions and have her get a head start on it now.

hello there,

IF your wife goes through the CR1 then she will not get anything from the embassy , you recieved an email from the NVC with the interview letter attached .

now she has to call the hospital ( i went to el shorook hospital ,in el mohandseen) , and to reserve an appointment.

on the day of the medical exam she has to print the interview letter , and 4 personal pics , and her passport and a copy of it , plus 415 Egyptian pounds and take them with her .

i suggest you have to hurry up because the result appears after a week of the medical exam date .

good luck :)

I am surprised you did not receive your interview packet.

It has all the instructions plus a list of doctors for the medical appt.

You should have her follow up and see what you need. I am sure people here can direct you to a link that

states what you will need.

Medical needs to be done BEFORE the interview and make sure you get a copy of the immunization record for you and they should send the documents directly to the consulate for you.

Good Luck.

I pretty surprised this seems to not be the first time where someone didnt get their packet 3? The hospital wouldnt let us do Ayman's medical with out the letter from the embassy..We got packet three one week after I filed the I-130...We also did it at the Shrook Hospital in Mohendseen as the one in Zamelek k gave us a run around just to get the appointment... You will get the results in one week and it can only be picked up between 1 and 4 pm.

How do you get and interview date with out receiving and sending in packet 3?

Back in 2007 we had gotten the packet 3 informing us to do the medical on our K3, but we didnt get the packet 4 instructing him to go to the embassy. I had to email the embassy and find that out, then print it and take it with us. That was the scary part for us!
