Why do we need a thousand page bill, if the government is not trying to run healthcare in the US? Personally, I am for total nationalization of the heathcare industry, including dentistry, and the drug companies.

That is not what he is proposing anyway.

All dems needed to do to win this over is put in some sort of gun clause. The sort of ####### is like a kid in a candy store. Something like being able to pack heat in churches or on planes and the repubs would have loved it. Just like being able to pack heat in national parks, just in case Yogi bear attacks or a terrorist is hiding in the park to attack you.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

That because the leadership are spineless weasels. They compromise their principals in exchange for sweetheart deals and filling the campaign coffers. Nancy is more worried about her personal air force than helping Obama. Reid is still pissed off that Nevada is off limits to official conventions. They are all a bunch of pussies, not the hardcore socialists this country really needs. FDR must be rolling over in his grave.

The movie in my sig is all about that. I watched it with the wife the other day and thought wow, that truly sums up American politics and why nothing gets done here. yeah I know it 's a movie but it holds a lot of weight. You have senators who will sell out to remain in office. Also noted, strangely enough and unlike the president, they are able to be re-elected indefinitely and for six years at a time too. Regardless of the reality that in their state they can cut deals, but no one assumes they will be dodgy. Unlike the president who me must make sure is limited to two terms. There is zero logic to that. It should actually be the opposite way around.

The senator of west Virginia is 91. Nice guy but the guy has not been out in the real world, aka actual work, for over 50 years. What realistically does a 91 year old know about the times, the world, we live in today?

UPS and fedex are profitable the united states postal service is 4 billion in debt! Get it?

UPS and fedex don't pickup and deliver to your house daily or for 44 cents. Australia Posts is actually quite profitable. Delivering hundreds of millions profit for the government there each year.

How about asking why the US government organizations are doing poorly? Where in Obama's plan did he say the government is going to run health care anywy? That sort of ####### from repubs is disingenuous. The party makes ###### up the same way people said it was a 'war for oil', which it was not.

We should get rid of the military then. Or is socialism allowed when it comes to that. US military is as socialist as it gets. Government pays for your food. Government pays for your health care. Government gives you benefits and free money for basically doing jack ######. Basically welfare but you get to shoot ###### up.

Seeing you aint gettin it. Name one, just one program that is ran by the us government that is a success?

I skipped over most of the pages so this may have been said already, but Soren Kierkegaard said "once you label me you negate me". Terms like socialist, liberal, etc. are used to label certain groups of people without understanding what the terms mean or worse yet lumping together individuals who really aren't in a group at all. Essentially it's a quick & easy way to discredit opposing opinions without actually forming a defensible position. Terms like socialist carry a negative connotation (or at least have developed one) so it's one of the catch words used & abused quite frequently.
