lawyer is waste of money, u can do it just like everyone else here. time is mostly about 9 months to a year. but u can do it faster, just follow the guide and everyone is here to help u if u have any question. good luck. abby n sheryl

I told my wife in the States about it, but she doesn't want to listen, she said, she is afraidd to make mistakes and one more thing she has these jobs and she is too busy to process it by herself.

but remember lawyer can do ur case faster, second thing is u give the papers to the lawyer then he has to send it to the immigration that takes more time. doing immigration is easy just follow the guide step by step here and it has all the forms and how to fill and how to write the letter in case if u have to , but it is up to ur wife. good luck with the visa journey, have a great night, abby n sheryl

If the lawyer uses Ling Che's NVC shortcuts no need worry.

Mine slowed everything way down and I fired him!!

We were thinking of hiring a lawyer as our situation was different (I've been in US on different visas before and lived there the last 3 years), and still after consulting a lawyer about our concern (which was only $75 consultation) and after discovering Visajourney, we decided we were going to do it ourselves. And we did it! And it took us less than 200 days between I-130 sent and interview date. Show this thread to your wife...

You really need to listen to what your fellow VJers are telling you and explain it to your wife. Unless you have extenuating circumstances that could stand in the way of your Visa being approved then save your time and money. An attorney can't speed the process up and the paperwork involved..I'm sure your wife is busy but cmon, we all work. It simply doesn't take that long to fill out the forms. Gathering the required docs is the most time consuming part of the process and an attorney can't do that for you anyway. Good luck and like Chris and Ani said show this to your wife.
