Why no outrage when Bush sent the troops overseas to destroy Iraq?

Danno, I agree with you on this one. The troops were just following orders.

B/C that particular brand of destruction was OK for them.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

One more time VW, next time don't run a loser? Ok? This is a democracy, and last November, you america lost.

fixxored

It seemed to be ok to call Bush the same things when he was president. Seems to hurt the bleating sheep when the same names get used toward their grand Socialist.

Or the same people who stood silently while the Bush administration wrecked the country are now screaming bloody murder over anything & everything Obama does. Works both ways buddy.

why yes, it does.

Maybe he will get it when his dollar is worth half a cent and all his dreamy social programs are gone.

What I "get" is a whole lot of partisan rhetoric & bitching with no real alternatives. I would love to see bi-partisan solutions to the issues we face (like healthcare) but that seems virtually impossible in the extremely polarized political climate we have now.

Have you actually seen any alternative solutions coming from the Republicans in Congress over health care reform besides the status quo? I saw Dan Issa on Bill Maher last Friday and he kept mentioning that he has an alternative plan that covers everyone. If he does, the GOP sure isn't pushing it forward, and I think the reason why is because any bill passed on health care reform will be regarded as a victory for Obama and the Democrats, so the GOP would rather see them fail and get blamed then actually helping the millions of uninsured Americans. Ain't that dandy?

There is a bipartisan proposal from Utah Republican Sen. Bob Bennett and Oregon Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden.

Not everyone in this debate is a loon. There are sane people, in both parties. Not many, but some.

But they obviously don't have much support from their fellow Republicans or we'd be hearing about it. The GOP doesn't want any health care reform succeed, period. That is their current strategy and it looks like that's how they'll play this to the end. Too bad for them and too bad for the millions of uninsured Americans.

The whole situation reminds me of something we did in college once. The professor grouped us up in teams & gave each team some information to solve a particular problem. Some of the teams realized what was going on & tried to collaborate with the others, but a couple of the teams wanted to "win" & basically told the other teams to screw off. In the end of course nobody "won" because some of the teams were full of self-centered a-holes that only cared about their own selfish interests. Obviously a simplistic representation of what's going on in politics today, but accurate nonetheless.

Pike don't waste your time with VW... she'll argue herself into a corner & then recycle what she said 2 pages ago. At least with Rogue you get an occasionally funny one-liner!

When I start posting to please you, I hope someone will warn me.

I just want you to try posting without all the rhetoric, labeling & stereotyping. I know you are capable of it because it felt like you toned down the rhetoric after you changed your screen name (well for a while anyways). You can have right leaning or left leaning opinions without demonizing the other side of the fence.

Tell me Steven, do you approve of this kind of demonizing and outrageous rhetoric?

I dont beleive the repubs are allowed in the committee meetings either. It has nothing to do with heathcare anyway, its about control.
