Just curious if anyone knows any info on cheap hotels by the us embassy, also is the shamian international travel hospital close by or is that far away? how much are taxis? is the interview hard?

thanks

rob

If it is a cheap place to rest your head that you are looking for then either one of these two places will do:

This one is not a hotel but rather the owner rents out apartments which are located in the same building as the Consulate Annex where the visa interviews take place

The Yang's Apartment Rental

This one is an apartment hotel which is located across the street from the Consulate Annex building

Zhongyi Apartment Hotel

Although I have never personally stayed at either one (I stayed at the Jianguo Hotel) many people recommend these 2 places if you are on a budget.

The Shamian International Travel Hospital is not near the Consulate Annex where the visa interviews take place - it is actually close to the actual Consulate building itself on Shamian Island. But it can be reached with not much trouble via the subway.
