Married a Canadian here on VWP and applying for AOS

I met my now husband online. The first time he came, we were going to elope...but our families intervened and broke us up. After many tears and discussions, my parents agreed, ONLY if he came here and did it the 'proper way'...well, while he was here, we went ahead and got married.

I didn't know where to begin, so I called USCIS yesterday. I told the rep everything. The representative said for him to just put an I-130, I-485, I-765, I-864, and I-131 in one envelope, with $1465 in fees. But all the web research I did suggests that this may get me in trouble!

Has anyone ever done it this way? Any suggestions????

many have done it this way

as long as his intent when he entered the USA was not to stay permanently but subsequently changed his mind while here, then all is proper...

If he entered with the intent to stay, then that is where the problem is

It is the alien's that needs to prove lack of intent if the question is raised.

Just as payxibka has said, as long as he didn't plan to stay when entered, then you'll be just fine.
