:dance:Hello everyone!

I just would like to ask how your wedding plans are while waiting for the K1 Visa.

Optimistic that the NOA2 will arrive this month and be able to leave the country in or before October, my fiancé and I are already lightly discussing our wedding ideas every now and then. I don’t want to wear the traditional white. Although I am a practicing Catholic, my fiancé has no religion but believes that there’s a Supreme Being. We have already chosen an ordained minister who says that we can freely choose any type of wedding. I want to wear a yellow sundress. California isn’t really cold in the last quarter each year anyway. A beach or a garden wedding will do. There are no definite plans but I am already excited.

Have you already prepared for your wedding to be celebrated in the Sweet Land of Liberty? Perhaps you want to present your thoughts somehow.

I guess whatever u wear and where u have it dont really matter. Go to what u and ur fiance wants and both of you will be happy. Me and my husband had a very traditional wedding back home. Very traditional church wedding. We planned it in the city at first and reception in a hotel but a month before the wedding we changed plans. We had to take back the deposit we gave for the reception and cancel the church coz we both decided everybody will be happy if we do it in our town and reception in our backyard. Oh well, so indeed everyone was happy and full, lol.

Just to share my private wedding:

I just bought my wedding dress in Nordstrom. Just a simple off white designer's gown. Since i got married in winter, i have a blue green top to wear with the gown. Not a conventional wedding gown but i like it. I love the lanscape in our backyard so we decided to have a garden wedding in our very own backyard. We hired an italian chef to prepare our food and jazz trio for our music. It was simple, private and fun.

I had my wedding gown, wedding invitation and giveaways all done in the Philippines and they were a hit. I asked for a garden wedding and my husband gave it to me ( it was more like a forest wedding ). It was simple yet very personal. My entourage was all from my husband's side since I was by myself :( but it was the happiest day of my life :). While walking down the aisle ( grape arbor) I had Lea Salonga's wedding song "Two Words " playing and I was so nervous. My sister-in-law's husband gave me away.

We put up three gazebos , the food catered and the reception with a bonfire. By evening we had a paintball war.

Our wedding was in a 12 acre land co-owned by my husband and his siblings where we also have the annual family reunion

My deceased parents-in-law's ashes were buried in a small garden and at the the day of our wedding a single rose was blooming. My sister-in-law cried endlessly because that was the first time the rose ever bloomed during that time of the year and she said that Mom and Dad approved of the union. It was the first time my husband's family attended his wedding because the first two, they didn't approve.

I figure I will wear all black for my wedding with Sarie. Black wedding dress also of course... Sort of a 'gothic' sort of wedding. I never had one of those and it should be interesting to say the least...

I am still debating on if I should get a new tattoo or not for it...

So long as my Sarie is happy, I am happy! DAMN, I love my Filipina!!! :star:

A day before we got hitched, I was looking for a wedding dress.

Lucky for me, I was petite (hindi na ngayon :( ), we looked for a white dress at the Kid's Aisle at JC Penney's.

Bought my dress for $49 and just noticed that it was made from PI.

We had our wedding in our city mayor's office.

Everything only costs less than $100.

It was simple and we liked it. :D

I have been a catechist since I was 17 years old. If one party is Catholic while the other is not, it's unnecessary for the non-Catholic individual to be baptized. I still serve nowadays in weddings and regular Holy Mass as a lector in the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral. I have witnessed various weddings like an American Methodist who had a Catholic bride, etc. As far as I know, they were made to sign at Patria de Cebu this somewhat like a pre-nuptial decree by the Catholic Church stating that the man must not convert the woman into his religion and that all the kids they would have should be raised as Catholics.

I don't intend to convert my fiance into Catholicism but I won't give up my religion either. Anyway, during his visit here in Cebu, he did accompany me whenever I was in the Mass. Besides, we have talked about this matter even before he became my boyfriend.

Hi, just want to share what we did during our wedding plans, like u before I flew here in US, my husband and I, plan our wedding online, we sit together and lists all details we needed for the wedding, we did this so we won`t have many things to do when I arrived that time here in US, just one thing don`t fix any date or make any reservations or any venues if you don`t have the exact date, it is all depend in ur visa.....It`s really exciting to plan ahead of time, and being united to our loveones is the biggest happiness we will ever experience.....BTW, modern wedding today, can wear mix color according to their motiff, some brides have their wedding dress with accent and usually its just knee length , you can do it too! I guess that`s nice and very appropriate if is is beach wedding....You can also browse some wedding site to help u plan ahead of time.....!

My previous post in my blogs about wedding preparation may help you. Just kindly click the link below. Thanks and Good luck!

Wow! I think my hubby won't agree with this. Though, I don't even plan on giving up my religion but he thinks that it would be better if the kids are raised to be Christians. It's less hassle since hubby and I are not really devoted church-goers.
