Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

There is no inter-state border crossing, you can go wherever you want within the continental United States, now if you wanted to go to Alaska and your flight stopped in Canada and you had to cross through American POE before catching your next flight then you'd be in a pickle. So you can go anywhere that doesn't require you to enter another country.

You are free to travel anywhere in the USA. Bring your passport, I-94, copy of your marriage certificate and any notifications that you have filed for AOS. You do not need to keep all of this in your purse, just have it with you. It is all the papers you need to prove you are legally in the USA until the much more handy green card arrives.

 As always, great advice from Gary and Alla. You have nothing to worry about. Now go see your husband before he's deployed.

Payxibka's being silly...Some states are notorious for giving foreigners (furriners? :P) a hard time.

Seceding from the union is what it's called when a state no longer wishes to be in the United States. Google "US civil war" to see what happened last time some states seriously tried to do it. Some certain states seem to think that they are only being 'dragged down' by other states and have groups who accordingly wish for the state to be cut loose. I'm not certain that the majority of the US population (let alone the states involved) takes them as seriously as they take themselves.
